hwasung's eye roamed around as she enter a cafe. it seems like jake hasn't arrive yet, hwasung sigh in relief. she had arrived earlier than the promised time as she feels super nervous for today.

come to think of it, this is the first time hwasung went out only two person with a guy. her cheeks heat up at the thought.

hwasung had chosen a sit near the corner as there's less people around that area or let's just say hwasung enjoys being at the corner. (every introvert would relate)

she pulled out her phone and surf in the internet to kill time. unknowingly her foot keeps tapping out of nervousness.

hwasung immediately lift up her head when she heard the sound of chair infront of her being dragged. "how long have you been here?" jake asked.

"not long," hwasung replied.

jake is wearing a plain white t-shirt, ripped jeans and a pair of adidas shoes to complete his look.

"have you ordered anything," jake asked while flipping through the menu book. the question made hwasung a little surprised because she has been staring at him.

hwasung shook her head, "i was waiting for you."

then they spent their time flipping through the menu book and mention them to the waitress when they're ready to order. "your order will be ready in a while," the waitress said and leave the both of them.

there was a minute of silence after that before jake breaks it. "isn't this our first time hanging out besides in the park?"

"yeah," hwasung replied. "it's a playground btw," she fixed jake.

the boy giggled a little, "it's almost the same thing."

"no it's not. a park is a park and a playground is a playground," hwasung miserably fails to explain. "whatever i suck at explaining," she said and a pouted formed on her lips.

jake let out a soft laugh. just then the waitress arrived with their drinks. both of them thanked the waitress and took a sip of their drinks.

"so, how are you doing?"

"huh?" hwasung hummed while still sipping her drink. "i'm fine?" she answered the sudden question.

jake who was laying back before leaned forward. both of his hands crossed on the table. "you know that's not what i mean hwa," he said. "i was asking how you're doing deep down. does your parents still force you to do the things you despise? you're always putting a smile with your friends, but are you really doing good?"

hwasung gulped upon jake's questions. she looked down at her fingers playing the hem of her shirt. "i'm fine," she replied. "i talked to my parents before. they got really mad at me, but they're going easier on me now. so it's definitely better than before," hwasung said still not looking at jake.

jake's hand made his way towards hwasung's chin and lift it up so that their eyes would meet. "hwasung, you can lie other people. but you cannot lie to me. i can read you easily, you're like an open book. most importantly, eyes never lie," jake said while staring into hwasung's eyes.

hwasung slightly licked her lips and bit her tongue. it feels like there's a lump in her throat and it's preventing her from saying anything.

"what about you?" hwasung managed to say with a very soft voice. jake seems pretty taken aback by the question. "what do you mean?" he asked instead.

hwasung muster up her courage to look at jake. "are you doing fine? you never told me anything. it's always me telling you how i'm doing and you're always the one who listen, encourage me, and be there for me. i never get the chance to return any of those," hwasung said.

jake stayed silent. he pulled himself away and leaned to the chair. the both of them stayed silent for some time until jake let out a soft sigh and had a smile started to appear.

"you've return all of those," he said. hwasung seemed pretty confused by what jake had just said. "we pretty much went through the same thing. expectations, pressure, rejection. when you told me about you, i told myself no one would understand you more than i would because i know exactly how you feel. which is why i cheer you up, i want you to be happy, because by cheering for you, i'm cheering for myself as well."

jake leaned forward and gave hwasung a soft gaze. "hwasung, you're the moon to my dark nights, the sun to my cold days, and the comfortable breeze to my mornings. your existence itself means more than anything in this world."
