Chapter 6 - The Funeral

Seeing your own ashes getting piled on the ground next to your dead brothers broken statue is not the thing you'd expect to see on a Friday afternoon.

Especially if you witnessed them arguing over who was responsible.
In my eyes, I blamed Luther. When he was a child. He'd always bully me and Ben, bossing us around as if we were his children.
Dad spoilt him, treat him like a Prince. Of course, it was never real emotions. We all knew it was for show, fake and evil.

I saw all my siblings in tears that evening - even Five, who rarely showed what he was feeling. No one spoke until the sun had set, about half an hour after my ashes were blown away in the wind.

Me and Ben were stood in the gazebo, watching from afar. To watch yourself be blown away just like that is a horrific thought, it's like your dying a second time.

Trust me, I'd know.

Ben planted a kiss on my temple, before walking away and into the academy.

I had no idea what he was doing, but he seemed too eager to stop. I was immediately drawn from him when Allison began to speak.

"Well-"
"Y/N was too good of a sister. She was the greatest sibling - in my opinion - and deserved... well, better." Klaus interupted. "and we can only assume, that Luther here, is to blame. She said so herself."

"Jesus fucking Christ Klaus. You know I would never have.." I lied.

"Wait, why would she blame me. If anything, Diego's to blame." Luther grunted.
"Hey, hey, hey. I told you already, I could never've been responsible for her death! I told Klaus to look after her, therefore he's the problem," Diego grumbled back. "you ugly, hairy baffoon."

"Woah Woah woah! I told Ben to look after her!" Klaus whined. "Why do I always get the blame?!"
"Because you're ignorant, Klaus." Allison said.
"Guys, I think we're all equally responsible. We all treated her wrong as kids, just because she was different. No one here's to blame on their own-" Vanya began, but was cut off by Five.

"Cut the bull. We all know that no one was responsible except herself. It was her mindset, her feelings, that got in the way. Maybe if she'd have-"

"Five you fucked up idiot." I mumbled, causing Klaus to gain attention by giggling.

"Okay, well, maybe Five is correct, Y/N." Klaus shrugged, looking in my direction.
"Seriously?!" I groaned. "I'm going."

And with that, I walked back into the house, too fed up to put up with the arguing group.

There was Ben, sat in the kitchen reading.
"Hey, thesaurus." I giggled, sitting on the counter next to him.
"Yes, nimbus?" He said sarcastically, making me blush.
I pecked his cheek and got up, wandering around the house.

"Do you ever wonder..." I pondered. "what would the others do if they saw us?"
"I think they'd try and hug us. Show their affection, they've seen me since we were kids!" He smiled, looking up from his book.
"Maybe.. I think they wouldn't think it is us."

I pecked him on the lips once I'd got back round to his side of the table.
"I love you, I hope you know that." I whispered, and forced our lips together, kissing him passionately.

Once he pulled away, I hugged him.
"I'll be in my room, if you need me."

I skipped off to my bedroom, wiping my eyes as tears rolled down them. Finally, I had the opportunity to be with him again, after 17 years.
