Why him?

After conversating with his mom and brother for a decent half hour, y/n followed Alejandro down the hall to his room. They both plopped down on his bed in awkward silence until Ale spoke up.

Ale: soo what do you wanna do ?
Y/n: I kinda wanted to actually talk to you about something, because I need an opinion from someone I trust. And ever since Kairi has been out of school, I've had no one.

Ale: I was gonna talk to you about that, why has he been out of school? It's been months.
Y/n: Maiya was in a really bad car accident and he doesn't want her by herself.
Ale: oh. That makes sense. So, what did you wanna talk about?

Y/n: It's Mattia. I don't know what to do. I still love him, but this relationship is just too much. And he's just been so angry lately that I'm scared if I say something he'll hurt me, or even himself.
Ale: y/n I doubt he would hurt you. But I understand where you're coming from. This is exactly why his relationships don't last because he becomes toxic. It's just the way he loves.
Y/n: I know. And it just hurts me because I don't wanna leave him. It's just not good for me to be with him, just not right now. How would I even break up with him tho?
Ale: if I were you, I would just tell him straight up. Tell him that the relationship isn't working for many reasons. He's a big boy I'm pretty sure he can handle it.
Y/n: Will you come with me?

Suddenly Alejandro felt his face beginning to get hot.

Ale: um. s-sure. Do you wanna do it right now and then go home? If you don't want to go home you can stay here for the night. You're always more than welcome to.
Y/n: could I come back here? I don't wanna face my mom and brother right after because I'll just break down.
Ale: of course you can. Come on, let's go.

They walked out of the house and down the driveway to his car. The car ride to Mattia's house felt almost unreal. Y/n and Ale were listening  and practically screaming the lyrics to 'Neon guts' by lil Uzi. This was probably the best she has felt in months.

Y/n: I DON'T WANT THAT GIRL SHE MOODY. I'M BASICALLY SAYING I'M COOLER.
Ale: GET DIOR DISCOUNTS FROM MY COUGAR. BACK IN THE SIXTH GRADE I GOT SOME BAD GRADES I WAS IN LOVE WITH MY TUTOR.

The rest of the car ride felt like pure bliss to y/n. Were her feelings slowly coming back for Ale? They pulled up Mattia's driveway and y/n unsteadily exhaled.

Y/n: I don't think I can do this. What if he gets mad? What if he hates me for the rest of his life?
Ale: y/n none of that matters. All that matters is that you are happy. So if breaking up with him is what is gonna make you happy, then you need to do this.
Y/n: okay. Also, thank you for coming with me and letting me stay at your house. I really missed my best friend.
Ale: you're welcome y/n.
