Feet in the sand

Chapter three

Dakota's POV

We finally got to Virginia beach after long 8 hours . We pulled up to a beach house about 50 feet away from the hotel we usually stay in. " mom why are we here ?" She looked back smiling " we thought we could just buy a beach house instead of staying at a hotel . " I squealed with excitement . I looked around and noticed that there was someone else's beach house next to ours . There was an older man who looked oddly familiar walking inside of the house .
I shook it off taking off my crew neck to reveal an orange and white crop top with a tie-dye design . Me and pacey hopped out of the car and ran around to the trunk to grab our things . She grabbed the brown box and her suitcases , while I grabbed my things . We made our way inside to see a beautiful kitchen and living area . I looked around in awe . Pacey went upstairs finding a room , while I struggled to get my second suitcase in my hand . " here let me help " I heard pacey say coming back down the steps . " it's absolutely gorgeous up there . Can we just live here ?" She took my biggest suitcase and made her way up the steps . I picked out my room and threw my things on the chest at the end of my bed . " pacey do we all have a window like this in our rooms ? "
She looked at me nodding . " well just us "
I looked outside of the window to a beautiful view of the beach . I told her to go get her bathing suit on and get her things for the beach . After she left the room I went into the bathroom and put on my black high waisted bikini . I packed my beach bag with a towel , sun screen , tanning oil , sunglasses , and my Polaroid camera . I grabbed my phone before making my way out of my room . I seen pacey walking my way . " Ooh girl you look hot " she said winking . I laughed " Same to you girl . Planet fitness did a really good job on us . " she twirled around then flipped her long brown hair , which reached her waist . We made our way outside to see my grandma and mom already at the beach .
" Pacey " I questioned , " what was in that box ? " she started laughing , looking as if she was about to choke any moment . She swung her bag around her opening it and looked at me getting serious " this was " she said pulling out a mini megaphone . I starting laughing . She clicked it on and started singing " but here I stand in Virginia beach with my toes in the sand use the sleeves on my sweater " she started laughing again turning it off . I looked around seeing people clap . She bowed down giggling and then we walked over to my mom giving her our things so we could go to the water . I looked up to notice two boys staring at me and pacey. Theyre both tan , muscular , have Jake T Austin hair and sunglasses on . Somehow they look oddly familiar . The taller one smiled at me , instantly making me blush and smile back .
" come on we don't have time . The water is calling my name . " she said grabbing my arm pulling me . She let go and we ran to the water . I looked over at my mom to see she was taking pictures of us . Can't wait to see those . We splashed around for a while , we went body boarding , and then ended up getting tired and going back to the house . We kept our bathing suits on just in case we wanna go night swimming or just walk around the beach .
" I'm so hungry I could just eat myself " pacey groaned . My grandma laughed hitting my moms arm " isn't she a hoot " making us all laugh . " why don't you girls go put something on over your suits . We'll go find something along the beach . Or we can go to Isle Of Capri . " we ran upstairs picking out outfits finally choosing the ones we wanted to wear .

" oh my gosh that was the best thing I've ever eaten in my entire life . " pacey said rubbing her stomach . " I told you it's going to be the best thing you've ever had " my mom paid the bill , and we walked back over to the beach house . " hey I'm gonna go upstairs and put on a cover up . I might go back to the Beach to walk around . " I said before going upstairs , changing once again . In the distance I heard a phone ring . " hello ?" I heard pacey say . I quit listening not trying to disrespect her privacy . I walked Into to the bathroom putting my hair down , showing my newly formed beach waves . I smiled in the mirror finally feeling pretty again for the first time in a long time . I was interrupted from my thoughts by a knock on my door . I opened my bathroom door walking over to my bedroom door opening it , revealing my teary eyed bestfriend . I quickly pulled her into a hug . " is it your grandpa ? " I said hugging her tightly . She nodded Into my chest . I sighed then pulled her back to face her . " it'll get better . I know it's a hard thing to go through . I'll be here every step of the way . " she smiled faintly and hugged me again . " I just wanna go clear my mind . I'm gonna go walk the shore . " I nodded understanding . " I'll be out later . I might walk around seeing the shops along the beach " . Gosh I feel so bad for her . She's gone through so much . Hopefully she can meet the one person who can make it better soon . Daniel .
