Feet in the sand

chapter eight

Dakotas POV
After getting out of the shower , I put on my outfit that Pacey had helped me pick out . I am extremely nervous as to how this is going to turn out . I put on my shoes and did my makeup . I didn't feel like wearing much tonight so I did an eyeliner and mascara look . I applied lipgloss and quickly ran over to straighten my hair . It was 6:50 so they should be here soon . After I finished , I walked over to my bed grabbing my over the shoulder coach purse and put my money , phone , makeup and my keys just in case I get locked out . I walked over to my door opening it and walking out Into the hallway . I heard Pacey singing along To one of Daniels covers . I hope she has the best night with him . I walked over to the top of the steps . As I was walking down the spiral stair case , I heard my phone dinging.

Hayes 😍 ; * Hey beautiful , I'm on my way over if that's okay with you . *
I blushed and typed back that it was fine . I waited about a minute before I heard a knock on the door . This is actually happening . I walked over to sliding door seeing hayes with khaki jeans , a black shirt , and black vans . He looked so handsome . I opened the door and then walked out on to the porch . " wow . You look stunning . " I blushed and looked down at the ground . I looked back up Into his beautiful blue eyes . " thank you . You don't look bad yourself " . I slid the door shut and we walked down the steps . We walked in the sand over to get over the the boardwalk , and it was quite weird because it was getting in my shoes . We passed hayes's beach house on the way there and saw Daniel walking out wiping his hands on his jeans . " aye Daniel " hayes screamed laughing . Daniel looked over and then smiled . " Hey man . I'm so nervous . What do I say when I see her ? She's so beautiful " I fan girled inside . " awe ! Don't worry just tell her you're excited and she looks beautiful . It should go smooth then . She's not difficult . Especially with you . She really likes you . Make sure you don't hurt her " I said smiling . He nodded and thanked us before we began to walk to the boardwalk . " so maybe after we ride some rides , do you maybe wanna go to dinner ? " hayes asked nervously. " I'd love to . I'm really excited for tonight . Again thank you for taking me out . " we continued to walk until we finally got to the entrance . " you're welcome . We'll have to do this again sometime if we enjoy it . " we entered the little amusement park going on here . I looked around in amazement to see so many fun rides . " how about that one " hayes said pointing to a roller coarser doing all types of flips . " yes ! Let's go ! " he grabbed my hand , lacing our fingers together . " woah , you're not scared ? I think I just fell In love . Someone who actually likes roller coasters . " I think I just fell in love ..... Fell in love . It repeated in my head .

The boy I became head over heels for over a year ago just said that to me . I shook it off because he'd probably never like me that way . I blushed and nodded . " I always go to cedar point in Ohio . It's got the tallest roller coaster in the world . You can see Canada from the very top . " he looked very amused . " I wanna go there !" He smirked pausing " with you though beautiful " by the end of the night my cheeks are going to be stuck red for the rest of my life . We finally got to the front of the line and boarded in the second row .

We got strapped in and hayes grabbed my hand . I looked over smiling still a little nervous because of the drop ahead . " Hi welcome to the Maverick ( ride at cedar point Idek ) . As some may know this ride drops at a 95 degree angle so please exit the ride if you are not comfortable . Enjoy your ride and see you in 2 minutes and 30 seconds . " one person exited and they locked the bars that go over our chests . The lady smirked and said clear . The ride started moving and in no time we were dropping . People screamed of joy . The rush was amazing . I felt free . I smiled and raised my hands having so much fun on the ride . I looked over at hayes seeing him doing the same . The roller coaster came to a halt . We stopped in a dark tunnel . Then all of a sudden it started back up again . I screamed of joy and enjoyed the rest if the ride . Once we were off the ride me and hayes went to see the picture . It actually looked good .

" do you want one for memories ? I'll buy it " I smiled and nodded a yes . " you don't have to though . " he took out his money . " to late babe " he paid the lady and got two . He handed me our picture and then grabbed my hand . I looked at it smiling . We walked around before finding cute little rides such as tea cups that spin , merry go round , where he ended up saying sweet things in my ear , him winning me a big stuffed bear , and the swings . We stopped for funnel cake once and even went to a photo booth that made a flip book . We were having so much fun we lost track of time . I looked at my phone seeing it was 11:40 . " shoot it's getting late . I have to be home around midnight . I'm sorry we can't go eat . " he slowly stopped smiling becoming upset . " well do we still have time to go on the Ferris wheel ? " I thought about it and nodded yes . We got in line , which moved rather quickly . It took about a minute or two before we got on . We sat down next to each other , and he wrapped his arm around me as the worker locked the little door . The worker have the clear and the ride began moving. I always wanted a romantic date like this . I laid my head on to hayes's shoulder because it was so relaxing . " Dakota ?" He asked me rubbing my hand . I looked at up him .

" do you think it's okay to like someone within a few days if meeting ? " butterflies erupted in my stomach . He was talking about me .... he had to be . " I believe that it isn't wrong . It's sort of like love at first sight . You can't help how you feel . " he nodded slowly . He shifted his self making me take my head off of his shoulder to look into his eyes . He grabbed my hands . " I'm really falling for you Dakota . It's weird . This feeling is something that I've never felt before . Its really soon to say this , I know so maybe another date sometime ? And we can go from there . " by now I was shaking . Was I dreaming ? I smiled slowly until the corners of my mouth couldn't expand any further . " I feel the same way . I'd love to go on another date. This was probably the best day so far . I owe you big time for all of these gifts and such . You really didn't have to . " the ride sadly ended , and we exited . By the time we left it was 11:55 .

" i really appreciate all this . This is sort of sad but you were my first date so thank you for making it a good one . It'll be something I'll remember for a long time . " I said looking into his eyes as we walked . We eventually ended up on my porch step . " you're welcome beautiful. Don't worry about The gifts and such . As long as we can do this again . " he walked closer to me hugging me . He kissed my forehead and backed away slowly . I smiled and nodded . " yes of coarse . There's a lot to do here , so well have to go on another soon . " we said our goodnights and I went inside . I slid down the door once he was gone and smiled to myself . This was the best night ever.
