I followed Seonghwa to the cafeteria, my mind still racing.
Seonghwa nodded at me with a smile and headed over to the counter, explaining his reason for tardiness with an apologetic pout and a shrug. He then tied his apron with his volunteer name tag on it, and started serving in seconds.
I blinked, snapping out of my trance as I searched for my table. My eyes met with Wooyoung, who was grinning like the Cheshire Cat, and even San, who was sitting beside Wooyoung was eyeing me with curiosity.
I reluctantly slinked over to the boys, plopping down in a seat. Wooyoung and San had already gotten their lunches, and I don't think I had the courage to get my lunch now.
My heart still hadn't calmed down from this short interaction with Seonghwa.
"Should I start celebrating?", Wooyoung signed with a glint in his eyes, and I scoffed.
"I just accidentally bumped into him and said sorry. And we were both coming here, so yeah", I answered.
"I smell bullshit", Wooyoung signed, his eyes narrowed in accusation, making San snicker into his hands. Wooyoung briefly shot him an adoring smile, turning to San and pinching his cheek.
I rolled my eyes. "Fine. Whatever.", I gave in.
I then fished for my journal in my book bag, and putting it out, started writing randomly.
About Seonghwa, yes. Guilty.
I write about anything that affects me in this journal, every account. And yes, you're kinda reading this journal right now, reading about me writing in this journal.
A few minutes later, I was deeply in my writing, ignoring my stomach growling. Wooyoung and San were having a conversation with their eyes. Cheeky saps.
I jumped when a hand lightly tapped my shoulder, making me drop my pen.
I turned to look behind me, my heart lurching as I saw Seonghwa, still in his volunteer apron, picking my pen up, returning it to me while mounting sorry with a cute pout and frown.
I shook my head slowly, still dazed at so much Seonghwa- interaction in a single day, and accepted my pen with a minute shrug.
Seonghwa's eyes widened like he suddenly remembered something, and then he grinned, producing two apples form behind his back, handing it over to me with his tongue between his teeth smile.
I accepted them slowly, still in shock. "Thank you, Seonghwa", I signed shyly, putting my hands back down. I dared not look at Wooyoung and San.
"Don't mention it. And I want both of those apples gone by the time lunch ends, got it?", Seonghwa signed, adding a mock-stern look in the end.
I bit my lip, nodding with a small grin, feeling my heart flutter that he noticed. That he actually kinda cares.
"Promise."
Patting my shoulder with a smile, and sweetly nodding at Wooyoung and San, Seonghwa proceeded back to his place behind the counter, while I stared at the apples, waving nothing more than to probably preserve them.
But I made a promise, so I had to eat them.
With that thought I bit into the first apple, actually feeling hungry while Wooyoung didn't prod much, for now, just smiled knowingly at me, tapping his chin in mock-wonder.
But I know what that look meant. He's going to wring it out of me when we get back to our room.
