The sanitary smell enveloped me as I ran through the glass doors of the large hospital. Slamming my hands on the desk to prevent myself from falling, I startled the poor brunette on duty.

“Trevor Moran! I need to see Trevor Moran,” I said as I slid to a stop in front of the sterilized counter. She tapped away on her computer before a crowd of girls started whispering behind me, “Is Trevor in hospital? Let’s find out,”

“Hello? Bobby is it?” A red head tapped me and asked.

“It’s Gabby,”

“Sorry Gabby but is Trevor in hospital?” She asked in an almost shocked state.

“Unfortunately but he’ll be alright,” Will he really be alright? Surely it can’t be his time yet…Right?

“Ok Thank-you,” She said before turning around to go find her friends. The secretary subtly coughed attempting to get my attention as I swiftly spun around and asked again for the room number. She replied, “Level two, room 20,”

“Thank-you!” I yelled as my feet instinctively carried me away towards the elevator. The longest elevator ride followed. I stood at the front of the lift, tapping my foot on the lino covered floor. Will he be okay? What will happen to Quinn and those bitches? My hands sub-consciously curled up into fists. The ding of the elevator reaching level two disturbed my stressful thoughts. I dashed out of there and ran at full speeds down the halls, reading the numbers as I went.

18…19…20!

I skidded to a stop and caught my breath. I swear this is the most amount of running I have ever done. I grasped the handle and cracked open the door.
“Trevor!” I ran to his side, grabbing his hand. “Oh Trevor, I’m so sorry!” I sobbed into his unconscious body.

“So trustworthy aren’t you? He’s living with you for what, a day? And he ends up in hospital! I should never have let him go with such a whore!” Trevor’s mum raged.

“Why? SO YOU COULD MAKE HIS LIFE EVEN MORE UNPLEASANT?”

“AT LEAST HE WOULDN’T BE IN HOSPITAL!!”

“Why are you getting so angry at me if it wasn’t my fault? I’m not the one who cut him!!!!!!”

“HE WAS IN YOUR CARE!!!” That stung. I hung my head low, head resting on the metal framework of the bed.

“I-I-couldn’t-”

“COULDN’T WHAT??? STOP THIS? I FIND THAT HARD TO BELIEVE!” She screeched pointing at the lifeless Trevor laid on the bed.   I looked up from the sterile, hospital floor. Reluctantly I dragged my tear filled eyes up to meet her icy cold blue ones.

“You have no idea what I have been through or what actually happened,” I started slowly and quietly, “You weren’t the one who watched her peers use the glistening object to impale your best friend. You didn’t watch the liveliness drain from his beautiful brown eyes as the cowards scrambled away, not taking ownership of their heartless actions. You have no idea what Trevor has been through. You wouldn’t have the slightest idea about his YouTube career, schooling life or relationships. Yes I respect the fact that you gave birth to this amazing human being but that doesn’t make a mum. You are just his biological mother, not his mum. Mums care for their children and do what’s best for their kids not themselves. Mums will go out of their way to find out what wrong when their kid’s upset. Mums will support them with every decision they make. They will always, always, put their children’s needs before their own. Mothers on the other hand, give birth and provide the necessities of living like food, water, and a school. You, ma’am, are a mother! You have to earn the title ‘mum’. I can’t believe Trevor lived with you for as long as he has. He is an amazing person who puts others needs and feelings before his own. He actually cares for people instead of pretending when people are there. Trevor deserves better than you,”
