Chapter 13|| All's Good...For Now...

~Gabriella’s POV~

*A week later*

We all packed up the car and headed to the beach. The sun was beaming, the sky was clear and the sand was warm. The day was perfect. Connor wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my head.

“Guess what?”

“What?” Connor threw me over his shoulder and ran into the water.

“I love you,” he said when I resurfaced.

“Grrrrr, I love you too,” I pulled his head underwater. “NOW SUCK SEAWEED!” Connor came up and tried to be angry but failed miserably. I laughed and the boys came over and tackled us in the water.

“I WANT TACO BELL!!!” JC screamed.

“OK WE’LL GO GET TACO BELL!!!” Trevor shot straight back at him. This is the Trevor I know. Cold arms wrapped around me. I turned around…

“Con-RICKY?” He was back.

“Gabby please just let me explain,” Connor and Trevor raced over closely followed by JC and Kian. I hugged Connor as he glared at Ricky.

“Please Gab-,”

“No. You are not going to hurt her and Connor like you did to Lea and I,” Trevor stood there ready to pounce, with his hands in fists. I started to shake a little in Connor’s arms.

“Hey baby its ok. He can’t hurt you,” JC and Kian stood on either side of us and Trevor was out in front. Ricky looked like he hadn’t showered or slept for a week. His hair was like a bird’s nest.

“Please. I just want to apologize. I wouldn’t hurt Gabby. She’s been hurt enough already. Gabby,” He turned to me and I let go of Connor. He grabbed my arm and I nodded, letting him know it was ok. I could feel the angry eyes of Trevor and Connor staring at us. “I love you and have since I have met you. I usually would just let it go after a month but you were different. I never intended to hurt any of you,” He looked at Trevor and Connor whom were still giving him their best death stares. Disbelief crossed their faces.

“It hurt me to see you and Connor together. I felt like I should have been there in Connor’s place, like I should have been the one you were all over. I realized that you and Connor belong together but the voice in the back of my head kept telling me to chase after you. One day that voice took over and it went downhill from there. So I took off and I didn’t think I would come back but I did. I needed my friends and I needed to face the music,” A single tear rolled down my cheek.
“Can we still be friends?” I nodded and engulfed him in a hug.

“Just friends,” Connor and Trevor relaxed and came over followed by Kian and JC who I think still don’t fully understand the situation.

“All forgiven?” Ricky turned to the four. They all shared a look between them and answered in unison, “Yeah,”

“GROUP HUG!!” I was stuck in the middle.

“I…can’t…breathe,” They instantly pulled away with worried looks on their faces. I laughed, “Maybe not so tight next time,” We all headed back up the beach and went to Taco Bell for late lunch (cough,cough 5:30). Trevor had to go back home tomorrow so we all watched a movie and fell asleep.
