[Backstory]
Ollie turned a page as he continued reading a book about all kinds of anything space related. As he did, he suddenly started to feel eyes on him. So he looked up and looked around. At first he was just in his usual reading nook that he gave himself in the library, but then for a split second he thought he saw red, blue, and white within the midst of warm browns and a few dull and dark books. He raised an eyebrow before book marking his current book, got up, and walked over and looked over but there was no one there. Ollie looked around for one more time before slowly walking backwards and turned around, walking back to his nook to continue reading.
Security pressed against the door of the library, holding her breath before slowly glancing over her shoulder at the slightly creaked open door, and sighed in relief to see that the boy had walked back to where he sat. Come on, just go and ask him if there's a book about bells. That's it! Just... Just ask the cute... boy with glass... Security shook her head as she thought more of the boy before she took in a deep breath and walked back inside and resorted in trying to find it herself.
"Is it around... here, maybe?" she whispers to herself, not wanting to disturb the absolute silence within that library. She grumbled, continuing to walk around between bookcase after bookcase, even having to go up a few floors before just laying on one of the tables in the main floor, utterly defeated to try and find that one book.
"You alright there?"
She snapped her head up, and stared to see the cute boy with glasses standing across from her of the table, and she just blinked, her mind running a blank.
"U-Um..." she coughed, clearing her throat, "I-I was just wondering if... you might know where there's a book of... bells, by chance?" she responds.
"Bells?" he echoed, and she immediately regretted asking the question.
"N-Never mind, it's fine, you don't have to go and help me, I-I'll just go and find one in another-" she rambled, but then she was suddenly taken by the hand and through the bookcases. her face felt immediately warm that it might even show, but then he stopped at a bookcase and pulled out a book and held it towards her.
"Does this help your bell book searching?" he asked.
Security blinked before looking at the book and smiled slightly, "Y-Yeah, it actually does! Um, t-thanks." she said before hurrying off, and the boy smiled at her warmly before turning away and walked off.
After school, Ollie was quietly staring down at the sidewalk as he went ahead to go and work at the library, but then he stopped to hear some wind chimes. He stopped in his tracks and looked over to see a that there was a small little store that has all kinds of bells and whistles. Literally. His mind tracked back to the girl. Is she looking for bells, maybe? He remembered seeing her out in the halls before, but every time he did, she wore a yellow button on her cardigan. She must be the hall monitor. He thought, walking inside the store and before looking around.
Security sighed, holding the book in her hands when she realized something.
"Gosh darn it!" she exclaims and muffled a scream in her pillow.
"Everything alright, Security?" She turned her head towards her room's door to see her roommate, Phantom, there.
"Everything's fine, Phantom." Security said.
"You screaming in a pillow reads fine?" Phantom shoo her head and walked over and just knelt down next to her bed. She folded her arms, let them rest on the bed, and let her head rest on her folded arms, "Alright, I'm all ears. What did the cute boy with glasses do unintentionally to get your heart beating, roomie?"
"W-What?!" Security exclaims.
"Hey, you vent towards me, and you keep saying that." Phantom said with a small smirk on her face, and Security just facepalmed back into the pillow, before minutes later she turned her head but didn't make eye contact to the other.
"I... was able to get that book." she mumbled.
"Great!" Phantom smiled.
"But the thing is that, he went out of his way to find it. It might be something small, but I want to repay him for it. But what in the world do you give a person that might as well know everything from books of astronomy, literature, biology, geography, and music?!" Security asked.
Phantom thought, "Than give him nothing."
"What- What do you mean give him noth-" Security began but Phantom hushed her, placing a finger over her lips.
"What I mean, miss Security that loves her bells, is just give him an empty book. Like some sort of diary or journal of sorts." Phantom smiled, "And with that, let's go!" she pulled Security off her bed and out of their apartment, "You're getting that empty book!"
"But- Wait, we need to get our money!"
The next day, Ollie sat in his usual spot in the library, and not a moment later he felt a tap on his shoulder. He looked over, pushing his glasses up to see the girl from the day before.
"Um, hi, again. It's me again, and um..." She looked over her shoulder before looking back, and Ollie noticed she was hiding something behind her back, "I wanted to say, thank you for helping me with finding that book about bells, and I wanted to give you this, at least." she said, and Ollie blinked to see her pulling out a book of a very dark purple book cover.
"Well, if I can take this, then you can go ahead and take this." he said, reaching over from behind him and held out two strings that have a golden cat bell on each one, "I didn't know what kind of bell you liked, so-" he began but stood still when she hugged her, and he smiled quietly and hugged her.
"Oh! Um, I'm Security." she introduced herself once she let go, but Ollie bowed like a gentleman, making Security's face go slightly red.
"Nice to meet you, miss Security. I'm Ollie." he said, placing the bells in her palm before taking the book, "Thank you again. Maybe we can talk more?" he asked.
"Y-Yeah! O-Of course!" she nodded before walking off in a flustered manner, and Ollie smiled, his face showing a slight hue of pink as he sat back down and opened the book before realizing that it was all blank.
"How thoughtful of her." he whispers to himself, and he thought for a moment before his mind tracked back to all the different kinds of bells he has seen in that store, and of Security. He smiles, grabbing a pencil and began to swiftly start writing in the book. But around the time he stared, he glanced over to see Security walk over and sheepishly sit down beside him. But he didn't mind, and gently moved her head to lean against his shoulder as he continued writing, and Security smiled quietly afterwards.
