Chapter 30: Pandy's Story

"And it's Pandy." Paulie said, double-checking before giving the other the banner. Pandy blinked before she then grabbed the banner and swayed it side to side, thinking of an idea on what to tell the others. Then they seemed to have an expression of remembrance and frowned slightly.

"Well, there was this one time..." she murmured.

I might've been around... five, when this actually happened. I think I had wandered a bit too far from the wildlife path. Jack, you might remember what had happened.

"Yeah... I saw it right before me."

"Why do I have a feeling that.... N-Never mind. Continue, Pandy."

So, yeah. I wandered a bit too far from the path. And I evidently found a blueberry bush, starting picking, and then that's where I saw it. I big, large, brown bear. And I didn't know how to climb either. So, I decided to just run. When in fact I should've pretended I was dead, but I never knew that.

So, the bear tackled me, paw against my head as I was on the floor, stomach down.... It hurt really badly, and it was by then when i was able to find myself back on the path and running towards Jack and my parents.

So while Jack tried to, I guess, fight the bear back off me, my parents went to go and get a ranger. After a while, Jack seemed to be able to get the bear off me by offering a branch of blueberries I was holding in my hand, and brought me immediately towards the ranger station.

And... ever since then, I stuck close to Jack every time we go through that path as well as ask Sammy for some climbing tree lessons, and why Jack is overprotective of me.

"But with that incident, it only added up to his protectiveness." Pandy nervously smiled while Jack just stared down at his lap, arms folded and Clunk also had the same expression as he does.

"I think the feelings between Clunk, Jack, and the bear are mutual." Mystic grinned towards the two as they just looked at her with a unamused expression while Pandy dipped her hand into the hat and pulled out her folded piece of paper and unfolded it to see who's next to tell their scary story.
