• chapter 11 •

It's the weekend, working as usual I guess.

I've been ignoring Matthew all week. I just can't bring myself to look at him.

John's staying with me, which is a good distraction, but both of us can't really cook so it's a disaster in the kitchen.

I've been working everyday, just anything to get me an excuse to refuse hanging out with everyone.

I looked up to see Perry's group already seated, and ofcourse with Matthew who I didn't want to see.

I froze, when he looked over but before he could make eye contact, I broke away deciding I was leaving early.

They let me since I've been working everyday, the back was locked today though so I had awkwardly pass by Matthew's group, giving Perry an apologetic look. 

Since I'm out early, maybe I'll call over Zach. Cindy is out on a date today so she's not free.

I told him and he agreed to come over which ofcourse because he's just as free as me.

"Liam, man what's going on with you?"

"What do you mean?"

"You literally never hang out with us anymore. And you're avoiding Matthew aren't you?"

"I-im not..." I looked down.

"Even a baby can tell you are, you leave the room everytime he's like 10 feet close to you."

Just what I didn't want to talk about.

"Cant we just not talk about it-"

"No. Both of you guys are so stubborn that even if you want to you won't try to talk to each other. "

"Zach why are you being so irritating?"

"Im being irritating? I tell you what you're doing wrong and I'm being irritating?"

"I just...don't want to talk to him okay?"

"Is it because you like his best friend?" What the hell is that reasoning?

"What?"

"That's why I haven't really agreed to um go out with him. I thought you liked him."

"No I don't like Perry. At All. "

"Wait, you don't mind if I go out with him?"

"Ofcourse not."

He smiled excited but composing himself quick enough.

"Just sort it out okay?"

"Fine, I won't leave the room the next time I meet him. "

"You know that's not what I meant."

"Okay, I'll talk to him. In exchange tell me how your date goes."

I chuckled as he turned red smacking me.

On Monday, I had a few classes with Matthew. I sat on a seat near the back in my last one, and as he entered the class I motioned for him to come over.

I watched as his eyes widened, an irritated look taking over his face, but he came over anyway.

"Uh can we talk.....?"

"You avoid me for a week and then you wanna talk?"

"Sor-"

"Shut up. We'll talk after class, don't run away."
