At Senor Hueso's restaurant:

As April finished her plate of food in silence, she noticed that they were still the only customers in the building. "Uh... is it just me or is tonight a really slow business day?" April awkwardly joked about how ominous the situation seemed.

Donnie froze, midway from eating the spaghetti. Then started to ramble. "Oh, umm... i-it's probably just some 'yo-kai flu' going around. I-I mean it's definitely NOT because I rented out the whole place for the night just because I was worried about the possibility that..."

Donnie continues anxiously. "The people would be so loud and annoying that they would end up ruining, EVERYTHING!" Then takes some deep breaths to shyly say. "B-but you know, it could be anything really, hehe."

"Donnie, I love you but..." April gave him a knowing smirk. "You know the saying goes 'love is blind' not dumb, right?"

Donnie sighed in defeat. "Alright fine, you caught me. I was trying to make tonight special. Is that so wrong?" He pouted with puffed out cheeks.

"Hehe, no." April chuckled at how cute he looked in annoyance.

"It's kinda sweet actually but you don't need to put yourself at such a high expectation that you end up being a nervous wreck. If we are going to be dating, we need to be honest and stay true to ourselves with each other." April clarified.

"Heh, sorry. I guess after all you have done for me. I just felt like tonight had to be perfect." Donnie said honestly.

"As long as you're with me, it will be perfect." April playfully boops Donnie's nose and he softly blushes at the touch. After a few seconds of silence, April shyly apologized. "Hehe, sorry. Didn't mean to invade on your personal space."

"N-no, it's fine. I don't mind so much if it's you." Donnie softly smiled at her as he held her hand.

They both stare dreamily into each other's eyes for what seemed like forever, until...

"*fake cough* Now would you two, like to pay the bill?" Senor Hueso finally spoke up with a hint of annoyance as he stood next to them.

Both jumped away from each with very flushed out faces. "Oh sorry! I'll pay- wait what?" They both rambled.

"This is a date. You don't have to pay." Donnie told April.

"Donnie, you already rented the whole place. This is the least I can do to make sure you don't go broke." April jokes at the end.

"Fine." Donnie bit down the last piece of spaghetti in defeat. "And it was only for the night." He mumbled in annoyance.

"Thank you." Senor Hueso took the bill from April and the dirty plates back to the kitchen.

"Thanks for paying. Guess I can use the extra money for my retirement fund." Donnie jokes at the end.

"Hehe. You're welcome. So, what else do you have planned for tonight?" April asked blissfully.

"Well- *phone rings* Hang on, I gotta take this." Donnie answers his cell phone.

Phone: "What do you want?" Donnie asked in his usual deadpan tone.

Phone: "Hey Donnie! Not that I care or anything but um... the guys wanted to know... Who's going to be the best man at your wedding?" Leo asked hesitantly.

Phone: "What- I don't know. I haven't even thought about that yet. And it's certainly not going to be you if you keep interrupting my date." Donnie warned sternly.

Phone: "Ugh, fine. Guess I'll just find out later." Leo mumbled in defeat. "Have fun on your date but not too much fun. That's what the honeymoons for." He jokes.

Phone: "Zip it Leo!" Donnie yelled in embarrassment as Leo just laughed at his humiliation.

Donnie abruptly ends the phone call. "Good grief! I swear, I'm never going to talk to Leo again." Donnie half heartedly told himself in frustration.

"What was that all about? Is there a robbery or something? Because if so, I'm totally down for busting some skulls once I get out of this fancy schmancy dress." April said with determination.

"Whoa, relax. It's nothing like that. I know you look super hot whenever you're in a brawl but since when were you so... eager to get into a fight?" Donnie asked in concern.

"Oh sorry. I guess I'm just a little tense because I thought that the Purple Dragons came back to... t-to t-take you away... a-a-again." April was shaking with terror but her fists were clenched tightly, ready for a fight.

Donnie instantly got up to comfort her. "Hey, it's ok. I'm still here. You've got nothing to worry about. If anything those Dragon jerks should be cowering after the way you completely kicked their butts last time." Donnie said sincerely as he softly pats her back.

"Ha *sob* I can't take all the credit. Although, we do make quite the unstoppable pair when we work together." April smiled as she wiped a tear away.

"Exactly! And even awesome couples like us deserve a break from all the drama of the world. And you definitely deserve a dance. Transitioning to musical mode! Your welcome." Donnie enthusiastically stated as he pressed some buttons on his gauntlet.

Which activated party lights that were twinkling like the stars all around the room. With upbeat instrumental music in the background.

"Hehe, are you serious right now?" April asked in delight.

"You bet. So, what do you say? May I have this dance?" Donnie stood in front of her with his hand out like a true gentleman.

"Hehe, of course." April eagerly took his hand and they started dancing like crazy.

Later:

As the music started to slow down, they swayed closer together. "Hey April, you want your next surprise now?" Donnie asked.

"You have another surprise?" April asked in suspicion as they stopped swaying.

"Oh no, sounds like you don't. Now I'll never get to show you." Donnie pretended to be hurt.

"Hehe, alright Donnie. What is it?" April asked through her giggles.

"You know, now that I think about it. It's probably best to save it until the end." Donnie teased.

"Oh come on Donnie. Don't tease me like that. Now I can't wait." April playfully pushed him away.

"Hehe, alright, alright. Prepare to be, even more amazed by my latest creation!" Donnie enthusiastically gives her the small present from his pocket.

April opened the gift to reveal a titanium coated necklace with a baseball shaped locket. "Wow, thanks Donnie. This is beautiful." She said in awe.

"Really?!" Donnie asks hopefully.

"Yeah, I love it! I could just kiss you!" April blurted out with amazement.

With that, Donnie lifted her up and spun around with her in pure joy. "Yes! I knew you'd love it! At first I wasn't too sure but then I remembered. Everything's better with titanium! And- wait... d-did you say, k-kiss?" He was stunned by the realization as he put her back down.

"I-I mean, o-only if you want to!" April stammered as she twirled the necklace around her fingers.

"Oh, w-well... i-if you're down for it, then... I'm all for it." Donnie bashfully held her hands as his cheeks were rapidly turning into a shade of red.

"You sure?" April squeezed his hands as she slowly leaned forward.

"With you..." Donnie spoke softly as their faces got closer and closer together, until... "100% with no doubt about it." Their lips met.

In that moment, time felt as though it slowed down, just for the two of them. And the kiss itself felt like a soft, warm bundle of passion that could survive through even the harshest of winters. Without any more words. They lean against each other as they continue to slowly dance the night away.

The End.
