A Faint Light

U.A Entrance Exams Part 2!

(Quick note: I just realized I don't a photo. Thank goodness I'm so bad at finding the photos. Okay on with the story!)

Deku's POV

      I looked up to see multiple tubes come down from the ceiling and suck up our tests. Wow, this place is super high tech. That was so quick. I'm done. I think I did okay. Maybe, I will get in. All of us started leaving the stadium testing room, it was kind of crowded, but that's totally okay. About ten minutes later, I finally made it out. I wonder if Kachan passed his? Well, only time will tell. Let's both get into U.A. okay Kachan!

"That kid is muttering again," the person from before says.

        Opps. Well, at least I held in my muttering from the test. This was the longest test to do anyways. After being lost in thought, I made it out of the school. I turn the corner to see a purple hair boy looking painfully at the floor. I wonder what happened? I shouldn't really press, it's not my place. But maybe just maybe, I can make his day. I can't leave him upset, it's the lest I can do, besides there is nothing else I can do. Since I'm quirkless. Maybe I can be the Tomura to him, but in a different way.

Purple haired boy's POV 

      This sucks. This test was totally rigged for people with flashy powers. Especially that blond explosion boy. I want to prove to everyone, I can be a hero too. Is that so much to ask. Especially, since everyone thinks I'll become a villain. This is all bull shit. I shouldn't break down here, but I'm so disappointed. I wasn't able to show them my full potential.

"Um...don't say that...wait...Sorry I'm stuttering...Are you okay?" I hear a boy ask. It shoke me from my train of thought.

Huh. "Oh, hey there? Huh...oh yeah I'm okay," I replied back.

"Um...are you sure? I mean...I don't mean to press it, but you seem pretty sad. Did something bad happen?" he asks once again.

     What's with him? Isn't he afraid of me? Wait he doesn't even know who I am. Maybe I should test it. This will be fun!

"I could be better, how about you?" I ask.

"I'm oka-" he stops.

Right where I want him.

"Now do you honestly care if I'm okay or not? Tell me why you came up to me, I want all the details," I command. This should reveal his true nature.

"I do care, really. It sorta reminded me of myself, I found out I was quirkless when I was four, and I ran away from home. A boy a bit older than me found me, and helped me get home. I was and still am getting bullied and ridiculed every day at my school for not having a quirk. I was even told to jump off a rooftop, by Kachan. Not that you know who he is. I wanted to make someone's day brighter today, since a nice girl earlier today made mine. Plus...no offense on further look at you, you have heavy bags under your eyes. Are you getting enough sleep? If not, I can recommend some sleeping pills I take. It really just puts you right to sleep. It's kinda heavy in melatonin. Oh goodness I'm rambling," he concludes.

    I was wrong about him. I don't trust anyone. But this guy with the messy green hair, has earned it. Maybe I can afford to grant him some trust.

"What's your name?" I ask him. (he's still under his control)

"Izuku Midoriya, but Kachan calls me Deku," he replies.

I release my grasp on my quirk. He looks dumbfounded,  the 'what the hell' just happened sorta look.

"My name is Shinsou Hitoshi, it's a pleasure to meet you Izuku. I'm sorry for using my quirk on you. I really don't trust anybody these days," I tell him, as a gesture at the seat next to me.

He sits down, and pulls out a notebook? What...

"It's a pleasure to meet you too, Shinsou! Don't worry, I forgive you, I don't really hold grudges, they just get in the way. I'm just taking a few notes on you in my future hero journal. So, how did you mind controlling me? I'm quite curious," he fanboyed out.

He thinks I can be a hero? Huh...

"Oh, I just ask the person a question, and any response I can activate my quirk. So, what other heroes do you have in there?" I ask.

"Well, I have a bunch of heroes, like Mount Lady and Kamui Woods and a bunch of others. Though my personal favorite is All Might! Who's your favorite, Shinsou?" He questions.

He didn't hesitate to answer...Wow. I want to be his friend.

"Oh my favorite is you! You're the first person to approach me, and trust me even though you don't know me. You didn't call me a villain, just because of the quirk I have. And yet you talk to me normally as if we've been friends forever," I reply.

     I can't believe I just said that. How embarrassing. I look over to see him flush red, and a bright smile appears on his face.

"Th...Thank- you," he replies sheepishly. How cute. His phone starts to ring, and he gives me the 'one moment' gester.

"Don't worry I'm okay, I'm just talking to a friend... No, it's not Kachan, his name is Shinsou he's super cool...I'll be there in just a bit...Okay, bye!" He ends. 

"I'm sorry that I'll have to cut this short my moms pretty worried about me. It was a pleasure meeting you Shinsou, I look forward to seeing you again!" He says as he runs off.

     Wow...just talking to Izuku made my worries melt, maybe I'll still get in and this school will see how unfair of a chance I was given. I know I passed my practicals. Wait... he's quirkless did he do the exam for the regular course? Must've been. WAIT...stupid you forgot to ask for his number. I want to see you again, Izuku.

Later in the testing day (in the car ride)

Deku's POV

"How do you think you did honey?" My mother asks.

"I think I did okay, one of my written responses could've been better. But that's okay. How was your day mom?" I reply.

"I was so worried about you, I know you probably did great, so don't worry about it. So, who's this Shinsou kid? How long have you known him?" She continues.

"Well, I just meet him today. But he seemed down about something so I went to talk to him and.... AHHHH I forgot to ask for his number, so I could contact him," I worry, this sucks I totally should've asked for it. I want to see him again, so maybe we could be better friends.

"Hey, it's okay, you two will definitely meet again soon," she reassured me. 

I sure hope so.
