I couldn't help but feel that what I said to Jaxon was the wrong thing to say. When he stormed off he seemed very unhappy, and I couldn't figure out why. The only reason I could think of is that the kisses weren't really just for practice like he had said, or just for fun, but they actually had meaning to them. But I couldn't bring myself to believe that because I knew he definitely didn't like me as more than a friend and a girl to tease. Or did he? It was hard to tell with him. I couldn't lie, I was definitely attracted to Jaxon, and he is a very likable guy, under any other circumstances I would be more than okay with having my first kiss with Jaxon. But I didn't want it to be because of a fake relationship, which is was, and that's why I was regretting it. To calm my nerves I decided to have some beer, not the best choice, but I had to do something. I had planned to only have one or two, possibly three, to loosen me up a little, but since I had never drank before other than some sips of alcohol, I ended up getting drunk. I stumbled into the kitchen to get a snack and Jaxon was in there. I shuffled over to him and wrapped my arms around him from behind. He jumped a little, not expecting it.
"Relax. It's just me." I say with slurred words.
"Leighton?" He asks.
"Yeah. That's me."
He unravels my arms from around him after setting down his beer and turns around to look at me. He bends down to look into my eyes, holding my shoulders to keep me steady.
"Are you drunk?" He asks.
"No, why would I be drunk?" I say unconvincingly.
"Come on. We need to get you home." He says, putting his arm around me and starting to guide me away.
I nudge him away and almost lose my balance but regain my footing. I grabs his hands and put them on my waist, my hands on his biceps. Our faces are inches apart and I'm staring into his eyes.
"Kiss me. In front of everyone." I say.
"No. Your brother would freak. And you said you didn't want to kiss me anymore."
"I was being dumb. I do want to kiss you. Like a lot." I say.
I see him smirk but he quickly hides it.
"You're just drunk." He says, shaking his head.
"Just kiss me." I say, jumping into his arms and wrapping my legs around him.
"Not here, Leigh. Your brother said no kissing."
"Then take me to a room."
"You don't actually want to kiss me. It's the alcohol talking."
"It's both. Please just kiss me." I say, playing with his hair. I've been longing to play with it for so long now.
"You're very tempting, Leigh. But, not gonna happen." He says.
"Why not?"
"You know why."
He tries to put me down, but I'm clinging onto him for dear life.
"You can't put me down until you kiss me." I say.
"Leighton, stop being difficult. We need to go get James so I can ask him what to do with you."
"What to do with me?"
"Yeah, like take you home and risk your mom finding out you're drunk, or letting you crash here in a guest bedroom."
"Or I could crash with you in your bed." I say with a mischievous grin.
He catches me off guard since he distracted me with talking and promptly puts me down. He grabs my hand and leads me along behind him. I try to tug him backwards by the hand but fail. Finally I release my hand from his grip and stumble backwards, falling into the wall behind me and hitting my head. He runs over to me and helps up.
"Leighton! What is wrong with you? Why won't you just come with me?" He asks.
"Kiss me." I say.
"Leighton, stop. Is your head okay?"
"It's fine, but kissing me is what you should be focused on."
"Leighton, now is not the ti—"
I tug him down by the shirt, and then we're kissing. He picks me up. The kiss is full of emotion. It sends a tingling sensation through my body. We're so caught in the moment, and it's in an empty room, so we're safe from people. Our lips fit perfectly together, and our tongues are doing little dances in each other's mouths. The kiss is intimate and fills me with joy, the kiss was just what I wanted, just what I needed.
