Fake It Till You Make It

I woke up, and Jaxon was gone. My ice pack was melting. I go downstairs to put it back in the freezer and switch it out for another one. James is down there. I turn around to leave and he grabs my wrist.

"Please hear me out, Leigh."

"What could you possible have to say?" I snap.

"I'm sorry for what I did. I didn't mean to. I talked to Jaxon and I told him I could get used to the two of you together. What can I do to make it up to you?"

"The only thing you can do is accept that Jaxon and I love each other and there's nothing you can do about it."

"I will accept it, I'm trying. I won't stand in your way. Please forgive me for overreacting."

"I forgive you for punching me, but you shouldn't have reacted that way. I will only fully forgive you when I see that you stick to your word and let Jaxon and I do our thing."

"I know I shouldn't have. I'm sorry. I will stick to my word. You will see."

"Ok. I'll believe it when I see it." I say, walking away.

Later on, Jaxon texts me asking if James talked to me and what he said. I told him the same thing I told James, I won't forgive James until he lets us be us without standing in the way. The next day at school Jaxon asks me on a date for the Saturday coming up. When Saturday comes, we go to a really pretty grassy valley with a huge and beautiful lake behind us and pretty mountains surrounding us. We have a picnic. I grab the bag of goldfish crackers from the picnic basket and throw one in Jaxon's mouth. Then he throws one in mine. Then he gets a fruit roll up and wraps it around his finger and tells me to share it with him. Later on we decide to strip naked and go skinny dipping. First Jaxon cannonballs in and then me. Once we're in the water, he pulls me close and touches his forehead to mine. I wrap my legs around his waist, he grabs my butt and slides his hands up my sides to my boobs and squeezes them. Then he slides his hands up to my face to cup my face as we kiss. After he pulls away he talks to me.

"I have to ask you something." He says.

"What is it?" I ask.

"Will you be my girlfriend? My real girlfriend this time."

"Yes! Yes I'll be your girlfriend!" I exclaim, and then we're kissing again.

    To prove things to me, James is so supportive of our relationship right off the bat. And then I forgive him. And Jaxon and I fall so deeply in love with each other. And every time I think we can't fall any deeper in love, we do. And it's like a dream come true. And regardless of the twists and turns and bumps ahead, I know we will get through it. And I know that no matter what, I will always love him and he will always be in my heart and mind. And I'll always remember that it all started with faking it till I made it.
