The Huntress

Chapter 2

The darkest night beneath my lids woke me up. I didn't realize that I had fallen asleep. I looked up at the sky. It was really dark now, I guessed it was maybe about midnight. I got up and went to the side of my bed and grabbed a black long sleeve shirt, a black pair of pants, and a black hoodied sweater. After I put those on I grabbed my little mirror and black eyeliner.

When I was done I got my bow and arrows and stuffed them in my sweater. I was ready to go. I started jogging to the south. After about 30 minutes I saw lights. I slowed down to a walk. I was almost out of the treeline. I took a deep breath and I ran out of the tree's.

I was met by a hundered different colored, twinkling lights. I saw a sign that said "Walmart". Bingo! I walked across an abandoned road until I got near the store. I ran to the side of the building and I glued myself to the side of it. As I crept along I looked up at the store. Soon I saw the glint of something reflective and moving up on the wall. I took my bow and arrows out from my sweater and shot it.

I saw a little electricity from it then it went dark and stopped moving. I ran to it and I was proud of myself. It was a security camera. Just as I ment to hit. I looked around the corner and saw another one. I aimed and shot. It did the same as the first one I got. I saw a window.

I ran to it and looked inside. Empty. As I looked some more I saw 2 red blinkining lights. Motion detecters. I shot 1 arrow to break the glass and 2 more to get the motion detecters. As I broke the glass the motion detectors went of. The loud ringing peirced my eardrums. I cursed and as I shot my other 2 the noise instantly stopped. Whew that was a close one I thought.

I stepped inside and ran to a couple boxes to hide myself. I looked around the room. No cameras yet. I moved silently from the storage room to the shopping part of the store. There! a camera was moving slowly back and forth from the jewelry section. I didn't need to go there so I didn't bother it. I hid and ran from all the other cameras until I found the food aisle.

I saw a carton of orange juice and...... Nacho cheese Doritoes! I smiled and saw a camera were I needed to be. I shot it and ran to the orange juice and chips. Once I got 2 bags of  chips I rolled to a box with those reusable bags in it. I grabbed a bag and stuffed my goodies inside. I looked around until a saw a sign that said "Bread". I jogged over there and saw the baguettes. There was a camera so I shot it and I ran over to the baguettes, I got a stick and rolled away. After the bread was in my grocery bag I jogged and hid back out of the store and ran back to the side of it where I had started.

That went well I thought. I looked to see all the twinkling lights again and saw a sign that said "Drug Store". Good I needed some more fuel for my lighter. So I did the same procedure I used to get in Walmart.

So this is how I got my eyeliner, lighter, knife, and some clothes. I stole them. But only a few things, thats not much of a crime is it? Besides I only do it once every couple of months. If I were to do it agian next month I would be sure to get caught. In the morning when the workers go to work and they see all that damage they would call the cops. The police would be looking for the burgular for a couple months. But soon everyone will forget about the break in and I can do it again.

I came back to walmart after I got my fuel. A succesful shopping trip. I smiled as I ran as fast as I could across the abandoned road back into the saftey of the woods. As I ran I felt my hood fall onto my shoulders. Soon I was back in the woods running home. But what I didn't know, is that  I was being followed.
