(Hey! I have two new Crygi books out!!!)
GIGI KNEW HAVING DUMB CRUSHES IN YOUR LATE TWENTIES WAS KIND OF A STUPID CONCEPT.
Nicky always had told her "We are adults, we meet, we date and we have sex. We don't fuck around" and Gigi had always agreed with the Parisians words, although she knew she would never really use the advice due to her attachment issues.
The redhead had never particularly realised how much those words would play such a huge part in her mind. Until she was with Crystal.
Gigi realised- sitting beside Crystal on a flimsy orange knitted picnic blanket at the beach- that she had a dumb schoolgirl crush on Crystal.
Gigi mentally scolded herself, having to remind herself that she had only seen her a very few times; and Crystal could of changed drastically.
But the more time she spent with the Latina, each minute drawing in at an agonisingly slow pace- she realised. She was crushing on Crystal. For the second time.
perhaps she hadn't ever really stopped. Maybe she just put it on hold, tried to ignore the feelings. She wasn't sure of how she felt, but she knew she hadn't felt anything like the soft ache from the constant blooming inside of her chest in at least seven years.
Perhaps it was the way it was December and it was slightly chilly outside, but Crystal still convinced Gigi to come the beach. Maybe it was the way Crystal folded her legs and brought her knees up under her chin, her body being as small as it possibly can as goosebumps rose on her exposed arms. Maybe it was the way Gigi found herself being pulled out of her trance of staring at Crystal by the Latina making fun of her and jokingly claiming that she has a 'staring problem.'
But Gigi knew Crystal was still coming to terms with her sexuality, going through so much self-oppression and having to just ignore it straight after definitely was not easy, and Gigi knew, she respected and cared about Crystal too much to try and hurt her or confuse her.
The almost white, smooth and clear sand dig into the bottom of the two girls feet as they sat on the small blanket that Crystal had presumably made herself. A pair of what looked like designer glasses rested on Gigi's head as took in the very small amount of sun that the day was deciding to give her; she wasn't particularly angry at it not being sunny. It was December so she didn't even have a reason to complain.
"So why did you wanna come to the beach?" Asks Gigi, her pale, thin arms moving up to behind her head to try and tie her hair into a small messy bun resting at the back of her head, Crystal watching her intently.
"I don't know... I haven't really had a Chance to come to the beach since I got back and you are kind of- well not kind of-" Crystal chuckles between words "you are my only friend in Los Angeles at the moment... not that I wouldn't ask you if I had more friends- because I totally would! I guess I also just wanna spend time with you?" Crystal rambles nervously, and maybe if Gigi was focusing less on Crystals lips when she spoke she would of noticed the small blush that ignited on the girls cheeks.
"Beach in December huh?" Gigi questions, leaning back onto her elbows, her eyes glancing over at Crystal who seemed to be staring straight back at her. "What's worse- me taking you to the beach in December? Or the fact that I brought you to the beach at seven-pm? Crystal teased with a grin, laying full on her back, her hands laying connected on her stomach.
"How about that you did both at the same time?" Gigi jokes, copying Crystals movement and laying back on the blanket.
The sky was almost pitch black, stars igniting in the almost night sky. The only light on the beach was from the bonfires lit by the teens that were scattered around beach. Gigi was almost positive that it wasn't the best for their already declining ecosystem, but she didn't have the energy to fight with it- and she wasn't the most upset with the orange, warm glow that lit up the two girls. Crystal had alluded that it's was dark for it being somewhat early in the evening- Gigi reminding her that it was in fact- December.
Gigi slowly slipped her hand over to Crystal's, resting it on top of her hands that were laying on her stomach, Crystal automatically loosening her grip on her hands and sliding her fingers into Gigi's.
Both of the girls found it somewhat odd. Seven years away from each other and as soon as they are back together they are just as touchy-feely as they were all those years ago. They weren't exactly complaining though.
"There is sand on my ass" Crystal breaks the silence. Feeling the small vibration of her hand shaking and her eyes glancing to the side to see Gigi, who looked as if she was in a fit of silent giggles, her eyes closed tightly as her free hand clutched her chest "I didn't expect that" the redhead admitted, her laughs now turning into booming chuckles.
The two girls rolled over onto their sides to face one another, Crystal's curly locks having sand grains through them and Gigi's hair being somewhat messy from lying down for the hour or so that they were lying on their backs, their hands still connected at somewhat of an uncomfortable angle.
"Gigi." Crystal breathed out softly, not knowing what else to say. Both of the girls knew what one another was thinking- they both had the exact same idea in mind, they knew it would be dumb.
If they kissed it would start something. It would start another scenario like it used to be when they were teenagers. Crystal was still trying to figure everything out and was still dealing with her healing process. Gigi didn't want to be used as a beck and call, she wasn't emotionally ready for that either.
If Gigi was going to kiss Crystal or do anything with Crystal for that matter- it would take time and patience, Crystal needed to know how to deal with her own feelings before attempting to deal with other's along with hers.
Crystals hand tightened its grip around Gigi's, giving it a small reassuring and comforting squeeze. Crystal needed time- and Gigi was more than willing to give her that.
