Chapter 6

I woke up to a knock on the door.

" Come in." I say my voice gravely. Taleah walks in dressed in a white suit and a slicked back ponytail.

" Good Morning." She says as she sits down in the desk chair. I give her a nod before going back to sleep only to be waken up jot even 5 minutes later

" go away." I groan only to be ignored.

" Baby you gotta get up please." Mommy says and I sit up.

" What time is it?" I ask as I rub my eyes.

" One oclock." She says and I raise my brow.

" Really?" I ask and she nodded.

" Can you get dressed please?" She asked and I nodded. I got up and I grabbed the clothes I set out on the night stand I walked to the bathroom where I took a cold shower to wake up. I get put and I get dressed, I get on a rainbow sweater and some Jean's.

" Here baby." She says as she hands me a bottle of pills and some water.

" I don't want that." I say as I go to brush my teeth.

" Reed just take it." She says and I sigh.

" Fine." I say taking it our her hands. I take the pill and I look ar her with a smile. I brush my hair quickly and I plop down on the bed.

" Where are we going?" I ask and she shrugs

" Its a surprise." She says and I pout

" Come on you need to eat." She says and i shake my head.

" I'm not hungry." I say and she sighs

" wait can I have a poptart?" I ask

" I dont have any Prince." She says and I pout.

" i have pop tarts at home." I say and she thinks for a moment.

" We can go." She says and I jump up.

" I should not renew my lease." I say as we walk outside. I get into the passenger seat and Taleah gets into the drivers side.

" Am I your favorite captive?" I ask betting my eyelashes.

" Sure Reed." She says and I nod. When we get there I see Emma on the phone.

" Um hi." I say nervously rubbing my neck as I step out the car.

" Where the fuck have you been!" She yells and I flinch.

" Hey Hey I'm sorry I just got worried." She says gently grabbing my shoulders and pulling me to her.

" Are you hurt and you okay?" She asks inspecting me

" Oh yeah yeah I'm great." I say and she stares into the windshield

" Who is that, and why the fuck-" she says and I interrupt her

" Its nothing, but I am moving so I wont be around here much but I'll come and see you." I say and I she her frown

" With her?" She asks walking to knock on the window. I pull her away before Taleah could react.

" Can we please do this later." I whine and she rolls her eyes.

" Fine but call me later." She says and I nod I wave to her as she gets in the car. When she leaves Taleah steps out.

" Who in the hell was that?" She asks sounding upset.

" no one." I mumble as I walk to my door.

" Answer me." She says as I walk inside

" Please just drop it." I say and she objects quickly

" Just answer me." She says

" Cant talk with your mouthful." I say and before she should respond I stuff my mouth with a poptart.

" Answer the question." She says and I shake my head.

" 1." She says and I stay silent

"2." She says and I start to panic.

" 3." She says and I freeze.

" Okay okay She is a friend who has been worried." I say and she raises a brow.

" Just a friend?" She says and I nod slowly.

" we- Yeah just a friend." I say throwing away my trash.

" Yeah sure, I'll get it out of you." She says and I roll my eyes.

" Well come on we are going to get you a dog." She says and I smile.

" Can I name it Tiana or Spence." I ask excited and she chuckles.

" Whatever you want." She says and I smile. We get into the car and drive for a while. We arrive at a shelter and I hop out the car.

" Come on." I say hurrying to the door

" Taleah back again. Havent seen you in a while." The woman says cheery and Taleah smiles. I follow Taleah to the back and I see a Small dog with babies.

" Can I have one of the puppies?" I ask and she nods.

" can I have that one?" I ask as the worker picks the white puppy up

" Oh hi." I say and she hands me the puppy

" Can I have him?" I ask turning to Taleah and she nodded before turning to the woman. I hold the puppy as he gently licks my cheeks. Finally we are allowed to leave and we drive to a pet store. I go to get out but Taleah places a hand on my thigh. In a couple minutes a lady comes to the door and Taleah opens the trunk for her to put the stuff in.

" Reed." She says and I turn to her.

" Yes?" I say setting the puppy down onto the ground.

" So your friend."

"You're still talking about that?"

" Answer the question and we can go." She says and I go quiet.

" I'll give you to the count of five." She says and I roll my eyes

" it's not that big of a deal." I say as she starts to count"

" You're being an asshole." But she doesnt say anything but her numbers.

" You know what fine. We fucked 1 time." I say and she smiled

" Easy." She says and I pout grabbing my puppy.

" Can we go." I ask and she pulls off. We get home and I jump out the car. I grab Spence and and the things out the trunk and I walk inside leaving Taleah in the car. I walk to my room and I set the things down and I also gently set down Spence and I start to put the cage together.

" Hey Reed." Taleah says and I roll my eyes.

" I dont want to talk I'm busy." I say not facing her.

" You're so mean to me." She pouts sitting down on the bed.

" Yeah you would say that." I say setting the cage against the wall, next to the table that had Evelyn's terrarium on it. I hear Taleah huff but I ignore her.

" Hey Spence." I say rubbing his tummy.

" Here you go." I say setting him on his bed gently, halfway closing the cage door. He falls asleep quickly I set up his food and water bowl before turning to Taleah

" Come here." She says and I turn back around ignoring her.

" Now." She says her tone dropping but I ignore her. I hear her get up and I quickly stand up. I walk tonher on the bed and I stand in front of her and she pulls me into her lap.

" I'm sorry." She says and I try to pull my hands away from hers

" You're not sorry." I pout and she sighs.

" Baby I am." She says and she sounds sincere.

" Fine." I say and she smiles. In the blink of an eye Taleah flipped me to where she was on top of me my hand pinned to the bed.

" Wh-" I say before she kisses me.
