Chapter 13

I wake up to Taleah slipping out of the room.

" Hey wait?" I whine reaching for her.

" Baby I'm sorry ill be back later." She says and I whine

" Stay with me please." I whine and she sighs.

" Ill see you later Baby." She says and I pout but nod. I check the clock and it's 8:00. I roll back over and I go to sleep. I wake up to a call from Taleah.

" Hello?" I say

" Dahlia is free to pick you up since you cried about Demetrius." She says and I jump up.

" Wait really?" I ask and she laughs

" Yes so when you're ready call her." She says

" Okay, Thank you!" I say

" Of course my love." She says before hanging up. I get into the shower and walk to my room before getting dressed and then brushing my teeth. I brush my hair and I walk to my closet. I grab a pink striped shirt and some light blue overalls. Today is an important day in the fact that its the day my sister died. She was 8 and literally the light of my life and now every time her anniversary comes around I spend the day at her grave until what used to be her bedtime and sometimes a little longer. It sounds silly but it's been a tradition for the last 4 years. I take out Spence and Evelyn and I feed the 2 of them giving them both a treat.

" Dahlia?" I say into the phone and she answers back

" Hey kid ready for me to come?" She asks and hum in response.

" Alright ill be there in 5."

" Okay thank you." I say and she hangs up. I grab my packed backpack and my wallet before walking out the room. I walk outside and I sit on a bench waiting for Dahlia when she pulls up she looks happy.

" You seem happier than usual." I say and she nods.

" Tomorrow im going on a trip to see someone." She says and I raise a brow.

" Who?" I ask and she shakes her head.

" Thats a secret." She aays and pout.

" Ooh is it a boyfriend or a girlfriend or even a sugar daddy?" I ask and she rolls her eyes

" Where do you need to go today?" She asks

" Um Walmart and then somewhere else." I say and she pulls out the driveway.

" Where is this somewhere else?" She asks and I shrug.

" Ill tell my secrets if you tell me yours first." I say and she chuckles.

" Alright smart guy, I'm going to see my girlfriend in Vegas." She says and I clap excitedly

" Omg that's so cool!" I say and she laughs.

" Yes but where us your secret place?" She asks

" The cemetery." I say opening the door after she parks.

" Um i-" she says and I laugh a little

" Ill be back in like ten minutes." I say and she nods. I walk across the parking lot and into Walmart knowing what I needed. I walk to the toy aisle and I grab a stuffed frog and a barbie doll. I grab some snacks to eat while I sit at her tombstone and lastly a bouquet of sunflowers before walking to the balloons.

" Can I please have dark green balloons?" I ask the old woman at the counter and she nods smiling sweetly at me

" Here you go dear." She says handing them to me and I smile
