Chapter 7: Slow Adjustments

As Cal was showering to freshen himself up, massive clumps of dirt left his hair and body and went down the drain. He spent at least around fourty minutes in the shower before finally being fully clean. Steven knocked on the door after he heard the water turn off. "Hey Cal, I got your clothes. I hope they fit." He said, and Cal slightly opened up the door taking them before closing it and getting dressed. At this point, all the gems went back into their room and Connie went home while the jedi was showering to get the recovery that they needed. Once Cal came out of the bathroom with the clothes Steven gave to him, Steven looked over with a smile on his face. "Oh, hey there Cal. You feel better?" The brown haired boy asked, to which the jedi nodded his head in response to the hybrid male's question. "Oh yeah, definitely. Thanks for convincing me." He chuckled softly before Steven began to ask questions. "So is everything you said true? About the past and such with jedi and sith?" Steven curiously wondered before Cal agreed with what was being told to him. "Yes, it was. I'm guessing Connie told you?" Cal asked and Steven nodded his head before taking a deep sigh. "We had peace here on earth for the time I was gone, but then this happened and it kind of ruined the mood for me. I just wanted to be able to enjoy my time without needing to fight." Steven spoke, rather disappointed which ended up making Cal feel bad about what had transpired. "I'm sorry. They wouldn't have come here if it wasn't for me." The orange haired male crossed his arms as Steven spoke up, explaining that an apology wasn't necessary. "Huh? Oh! N-No! It's ok! You don't need to worry about it. I'm actually glad you came and explained everything. If it wasn't for you, we all probably would've been done for by that inquistor person, or whatever." Steven said, bringing back the smile on his face trying to also reassure Cal that the assistance that he gave earth was much appreciated. "Anyway, you can stay here as long as you need. If you need to wash your clothes, the washer and dryer is upstairs so follow me. I'll take you to them." Steven began leading Cal and the jedi followed behind the teenage boy before the two made it and he began to wash his jedi apparel. The two went back into the house and as Cal got downstairs, he ran into BD-1 who beeped happily. "Oh, hey bud. I was wondering where you went. How did Peridot treat you?" He wondered, and BD replied happily, but was a bit off put from how she reacted. "Yeah, that can happen." Cal chuckled before going down on one knee and gently petting the droid on its head. "Don't worry about it though. I know she means well." Cal spoke before laying himself down on the couch and slowly closing his eyes trying to fall asleep.

Back on the other part of the galaxy, Starkiller still remained on the planet raxus prime fighting against junk drones, scrap guardians and even junk titans before finally he confronted by the crazed Kazdan Paradus who had been living in isolation this entire time by himself and making a scrap army. "Kazdan Paratus at last." Starkiller spoke softly before the tiny alien used his robotic arms to his advantage and ignited his lightsaber, and growling underneath his breath before turning around to face darth vader's apprentice. "Don't worry, masters. I'll defend you from this sith trash." He continued to keep growling before he finally moved forwards on his mechanical body with the goal of killing starkiller. Starkiller jumped up into the air, and then dashed forwards at Kazdan in hopes of trying to be able to get him off guard but it didn't work as he easily blocked it and did a swirling attack, knocking the sith padawan back onto the ground and wasted no time using more of his unique fighting style, swirling the lightsaber again to which it took all of starkiller's awareness to block and defend against them. Starkiller then began to use powerful strikes against Kazdan, pushing the jedi back on the defensive before also using a lightning lightsaber strike against him. Kazdan threw himself into the air, bit Starkiller caught him and began choking him with one hand, then used the other with force lightning but Kazdan quickly broke out of it landing himself back on the ground. Starkiller then tried to take advantage of Kazdan once more but the jedi was quick to keep his distance from the apprentice of Darth Vader. The two then ended up in a lightsaber stalemate and Kazdan began yelling. "Home...STOP RUINING MY HOME!!!!" He exclaimed before Starkiller knocked him back and he groaned out in pain. The sith then began to throw random metal debris at Kazdan using the force which got the jedi upset. "MY TEMPLE, NO!!!!!" He exclaimed before climbing up a nearby pillar and began to create a junk titan to aid him in the fight against Starkiller, however the sith easily destroyed it by utilizing his lightning and slashing through the junk titan as if it was nothing to him. He ripped its weapon off using the force before throwing it back inside of him which made the junk titan become completely obliterated. Still keeping his distance, Kazdan began to throw more metal debris at Starkiller like how the sith was doing earlier. The sith padawan was slashing through some of them before then he caught one of the metal debris, and threw it back at Kazdan making him fall off the pillar he was hanging himself onto to keep his distance from Darth Vader's apprentice. Kazdan then began talking to himself crazed while closing the distance between him and Starkiller. "I WILL, STOP HIM MASTER YODA!! I WILL!!!" He yells out as Starkiller does more powerful strikes against Kazdan, who was getting hit more as his madness was blinding his combat abilities and hindering them from him being able to actually land critical blows against Starkiller. Kazdan jumped up into the air and suddenly slammed his lightsaber down against the ground making a shock wave which caused Starkiller to lose his balance, but instead of going for a fatal strike, Kazdan began monologuing again. "YOU, HAVE NO RIGHT, TO THE FORCE!!!!" Kazdan yelled out before him and Starkiller became locked into a force struggle. It had seemed that Kazdan had picked up on force lighting during his time in isolation, but didn't know how to correctly use it and therefore was easily overpowered and knocked into a pillar making him get angered, and he resorted to the tactics of throwing random metal debris once more. Using his hands, Starkiller caught one of them and threw it back at Kazdan who avoided it and jumped out of the way landing on a metal beam, where Starkiller followed him and the two began dueling on top of it. Starkiller slashed at Kazdan which knocked him back a little bit, but when the jedi striked back he used the force and made an impactful push against the sith padawan, following it up with a slash knocking Starkiller off the beam. Kazdan then tried using more force push, but Starkiller used his agility to avoid and in mid air, he easily caught one of them and threw it back at the jedi knocking him against the wall where Kazdan throws a metal bomb and Starkiller pushes it far away with the force. Kazdan then throws a random metal piece from a ship, and Starkiller catches it with the force which the two were deadlocked in for a bit before Starkiller finally gained the upper hand and launched it back forcing Kazdan back down to the ground and completely making him immobile. Kazdan then began to spoke his dying words. "I'm sorry, masters...I've failed you again..." After he spoke, a beam of lightning came down and immediately struck him which surprised even Starkiller as he wasn't expecting that to happen. Using the communicator on his wrist, Starkiller signaled his pilot. "Juno, I'm done here." He said before Juno replied. "Copy that, Starkiller. On my way." The rogue shadow caught up with Darth Vader's apprentice, but they didn't say anything to one another. Starkiller then began meditating and he deconstructed his lightsaber with his mind before suddenly a transmission began to come in with Proxy in the midst of him putting his lightsaber back together. It was his master, Darth Vader which actually surprised him and made him break his concentration. "My master, Kazdan Paratus is dead." He stated as he took a knee and bowed his head. "Then your training is almost complete." Vader said which somewhat angered starkiller. "I am ready, now!" He exclaims but Vader stops him. "No! You lack focus. You're easily distracted. Go to the jedi temple on corusant. Your training is far from complete, my apprentice." That was the last thing Vader had spoke through proxy before the droid began to slowly fall down in front of his master, who caught him in his arms. He then set him down and informed Juno to head to the jedi temple.
