Dad this is Hinata

Kageyama's POV:

Things are going great with Hinata, he's obviously still stupid but I like it, it's cute. Anyways I'm super nervous and I'm sure Shoyo is too, he's going to meet my dad for the first time.

Hinata's met my mother before but my dad is almost never home, so whenever that dumbass was over my dad never was. I don't know what to feel, my dad is trying to come to terms with the fact that I like men, and I'm really grateful that he's trying to make an effort, I'm just nervous.

Hinata's POV:

AHHHHHH I DONT KNOW WHAT TO WEAR!!! I'm super nervous, I'm meeting Kageyama's dad for the first time and I have no idea how to act. What do I wear? What do I do? What if I come off as weird? What if I'm too overbearing? Ahhhhhhh!!! Of course it's only dinner at Kag's place but I just want him to like me.

It's almost time to go to Kageyama's house and I'm trying my best to calm my nerves, I know it's probably not going to be as bad as I think but what can I say I'm an over thinker. I ended up wearing something warm, because it's pretty cold out, but casual. I'm wearing black jeans with a grey hoodie and a Jean jacket over it, I hope I'm not under doing it.

I just arrived at Kageyama's house, and even thought I'm hesitant I knock on the door, I wanted for a couple seconds until I heard light footsteps getting closer, once the door opened I could see Kageyama's mother. I can't lie she is a very beautiful woman, she's an average height with dark brown eyes and brown hair. She's very serious looking but she is very kind. I'm assuming kageyama takes after his father, I see almost no resemblance with the two.

"Hi, Shoyo!!"

"Ah, h-hello how are you?"

"I'm great, thanks for asking. Well come on in I'll call Tobio for you, make you self at home."she said with a genuine smile.

"Okay thank you" I stepped inside and took off my shoes and sat on their couch as I waited for Kageyama to come out of his room, I'm actually starting to get really nervous, what if Kageyama's dad has the same personality? Then I will actually die.

After about 5 minutes Kageyama finally came out of the room and his Mother started preparing dinner. I went up to him to give him a hug which he returned and he kissed the top of my head as I snuggled my face into his chest, his sent was so relaxing, it smelled almost sweet but still manly.

As I smile up at him, I could see his mother smiling and blushing out of the corner of my eye, I guess she saw that, but now I'm embarrassed.

"Oh, my dad is getting off of work late he should be here in about 15 minutes so don't be so nervous, I'm right here" Kageyama reassured me.

"Okay I'll try" I said giving him a small, nervous smile.

We sat one the couch waiting for Kageyama's father and for the food. When all of a sudden we hear the doorknob start unlocking. I look at kageyama and he just gives me a small smile, almost invisible. We both stand up to welcome him home. I swear my heart is going to beat out of my chest.

When he entered the house, I was in awe, I swear time froze, he looks exactly like kageyama, dark blue eyes with jet black hair and the same face shape not to mention his hight, he has to be one of the tallest people I've ever seen in my life. He and kageyama are like doppelgängers.

"Welcome home honey" Kageyama's mom half shouts from the kitchen.

"Welcome home dad, this is the boy I was telling you about." Kageyama says gesturing to me.

"Ah, hello, I'm Shoyo Hinata, Im Kageyama's-" I stop dead in my tracks and look at kageyama should I say it.

"B-Boyfriend, he's my boyfriend" kageyama speaks up for me.

His dad looks at me and all I can say is "mhmm" and smile.

"Well it's very nice to meet you Hinata." His dad says. And once again time froze, his voice was so deep but yet so comforting. "Likewise" I say smiling up at him.

That wasn't as bad as I thought and I guess that means the hardest part is over. But I can't help but wonder...where in the world kageyama got his bitchy attitude from, his mom is super nice and from what I've interacted with his dad, he's really nice too.

Kageyama POV:

That went surprisingly well, I honestly didn't know what to expect but I'm just glad Hinata made a good first impression. We all get called over to the dinner table and as we sit down my mother passes out the food on the table, I turn to see hinata and he's practically drooling already.

"Alright dig in!!" My mom says, my moms cooking is the best she's rarely even home, but when she is she spends all her time learning new recipes and almost burning down the house.

"Thank you for the food" we all say as we dig in to the arrangement of veggies, rice, things I've never even seen before, and most importantly meat.

———After dinner———

Hinata's POV:

That went surprisingly well, the whole time we talked about volleyball, school, the team, and they seemed to enjoy asking about my home life. I'm really happy that Kageyama's dad seemed to like me.

"Let me walk you home" kageyama says to me while hugging me from behind and resting his chin on my shoulder.

" you know I live like 2 streets down right?"

"Yes, but we can talk on the way there, don't ruin it Baka!"

"Okay okay, you can walk me home" as we walked Kageyama told me about how his dad seemed to really like me and that he's met some of Kageyamas other friends in the past but didn't really like them. This was obviously a relief, hopefully he can get to know me more and eventually his parents can meet my mom.

"I would call today a success." Kageyama says as we reach my doorstep and face each other with his hand on my waist and my hands behind his neck.

"Yeah. Yeah" Successful is definitely the word. We give each other a goodbye kiss and I watch as Kageyama walked back into the direction of his house.

Kageyama's Dad POV:

Today was interesting, when I got home I was expecting to hate this so called "boyfriend" of my son, but when I saw him in person and saw how small and adorable he is something about him made it impossible to not like him. I've had time to think and I've come to the conclusion that, I'm not mad that my son likes men, im more sad that my boy is growing up. I think this Shoyo Hinata guy will be good for my son.

Anyways I came up with this whole book by going with the flow so it has almost no plot. But yeah I bet you guys weren't expecting that last POV hahaha. Well anyways stay safe out there.
