Archery.

I end up spending a lot of time over the next three weeks with Evie and Mal as it turns out we have a lot of things in common. The next group of VK's are arriving tomorrow so I'm hoping they'll be alright. Rumors are that one of them is very good looking. I often hear some of the girls whispering to each other about someone but I've never caught a name. 

I lay back on my bed and stare at the picture of me and my parents on the table next to me. I miss them and our home with the woods and freedom. The three of us would always go out and practice archery together. My grandmother is always complaining that they taught me archery to young. But I've never complained I love it and its my stress relief. I find it very calming and often sneak out into the woods around school to practice. 

Lonnie walks into the room and smiles "A few of us are having a slumber party, do you want to join?" I shake my head "No thanks, I think I'm just going to go for a walk." she smiles knowingly "Have fun." I nod "You too." she grabs a bag and walks out again. I stand and take my bow and quiver out from under my bed. I pull on my leather jacket and arm guard and slip out the window and into the trees just outside. I walk through the trees smiling, the woods have always been my favorite place and its where all my favorite memories have happened.

I find the clearing easily and lean my bow and quiver against a tree while I take my target out from under a bush. It is actually just a round piece of wood I found on the floor with circles drawn on but it does the job. I would just shoot the trees but I can't risk getting caught. I hang up the target and string my bow pulling the string back a couple of times to stretch my arm before knocking an arrow. I let it fly and smile triumphantly as it hits the middle of the target. I continue shooting making a perfect ring of arrows. I shoot for about half an hour before deciding to stop. I shoot my last arrow and go to retrieve them. "You know for an Auradon girl your pretty good."

I turn sharply and find Jay and Carlos leaning against two of the trees behind me "Please don't tell anyone." Carlos smiles "We won't." Jay grins "Where'd you learn to do that?" I smile "My parents both are excellent archers." they both nod and Carlos smiles "We saw you sneaking out your window and wanted to know what you were doing." I nod slightly "I'm not really supposed to have a bow at school but I've kept it a secret this long and it's not like I'm hurting anyone. Only Lonnie knows and now you"

I pull the arrows out of the target carefully putting them back in the quiver. "So you've been doing archery a while then?" I nod and smile running a hand over my bow "As long as I can remember." I un-string my bow and take down the target putting it back under the bush "We should probably head back to the school before someone notices we're gone." We walk back silently and I stop outside my window "See you later." they both smile and wave as they walk away. I open the window and place my bow and quiver gently on the floor before climbing up and shooting the window behind me.
