Atticus was busily crawling around with a cooing noise. He had just learned how to crawl. News of the birth of Prince Bryan had reached the Kingdom of Eldor.
"That Kingdom of Sidon now has two young ones", the King said with a growl to his voice.
"We can have more if you want to", the Queen said.
"Oh no, Atticus is the only one we have. I don't want to have the maids fussing over another one", the King snorted.
The Queen let out a sigh. The two kingdoms had been at war with each other for ages. The most recent one was over who would get the barren lands between the two territories. Her cousin had died in the last battle. Tears filled her wide eyes as she watched Atticus play about. She would be devastated if something happened to her beloved son.
"Don't worry. Nothing will happen to him", the King said.
It was as if he had read her mind. Atticus looked up and was listening to the two talk. Was it about him? He dropped his play things and crawled up to his mother. He stumbled and the Queen watched with amusement.
"Moma!", he said.
"He said his first words!", the King exclaimed.
"He's such an amazing sweet thing", the queen said with adoration.
The King smiled and continued to watch his child with a watchful gaze. He would protect his son no matter what would happen. Atticus turned his gaze towards his father and reached out towards him. He picked him up and was about to speak when a servant came in.
"Your highness! We are having trouble on the front lines! The Kingdom of Sidon has invaded our territory!", the servant said with panic in his voice.
