Bryan was enraged as he told his story to his father. His mother was listening to his story with wide eyes.
"That little... Let me compose myself", the King said. "I'll deal with this tonight with the King of Eldor myself."
He let himself be led away to his chambers to get ready for tonight. After hours of getting ready, he walked into the dining hall and looked around with wonder in his eyes. Flora was beside him and was smiling happily. He marveled at how composed his older sister was and he hoped he would be able to stay calm. Bryan was introduced to different people that night. He was busily talking with a young guard when something caught his eye. A girl about his age was walking towards him. Her long black hair was in a high bun and her green eyes shone like the leaves of a rose plant.
"I'm Princess Violet. My father is the King of Windsor", Violet said with a respectful dip of his head.
Atticus walked by and dipped his head coldly to Bryan and Violet.
"He seems rude", the young guard said.
"Maybe his caviar was taken from him", she laughed.
Bryan looked at the princess with wide eyes. He liked this young teen. She was witty and out going and didn't care who heard her. She was watching him with bright and intelligent eyes as he looked down at his feet. The young guard nudged him and snickered.
"Oh stop it", Violet said with a laugh.
"I want to show you two something", the guard said.
He pointed over to where the King of Eldor was talking to King Edward.
"Your son should've never done to him. He was bleeding in the face when he got back", the King of Eldor said.
"Maybe if your son's mentor would teach him better instead of learning how to fall for my daughter", King Edward snapped back.
The King of Windsor looked up with wide eyes while Violet looked over at Flora with fear in her eyes. No one could intermarry or like each other like that ever. Bryan felt hatred rise up against his foe as he eyed him coldly.
"What's up with you?", Violet asked.
"Oh, I'm sorry", Bryan said.
He noticed that he was standing at a battle stance and he was glaring rather too hard at Atticus.
"Nothing he can't handle, eh Bryan?", the guard said.
