As Bryan let Violet walk off, he felt his heart pound against his chest. He was in such love with Violet, but how when he just met her? He shook his head with worry as he watched the ball draw to a close. He was about to walk off when a guard ran into him.
"I'm so sorry! Where is your father?", he asked.
"I'll bring you to him", Bryan said.
He could tell something was up. Worry tightened inside of him as he followed the guard up into his father's chambers. He gasped when he saw something he would never be able to erase from his mind. His father was slumped onto his side dead. His mother was watching with sadness in her eyes.
"I'm so sorry!", the guard said. "I was too late."
"Too late for what?", the Queen asked while Bryan hugged her.
"Someone from the Eldor kingdom was vowing revenge on the King", the guard said and he hung his head low in shame.
"What will we do without a king?", the Queen asked. She turned a thoughtful gaze towards her son.
Bryan felt horror rush through him. He was only sixteen years old! He wasn't even done with his training to become the perfect prince.
"You are the next in line", the guard said.
He bowed his head in acceptance. He would do whatever he could for his father and he would avenge his death. The young prince had an idea of who it was. He was about to speak when he heard a scream. A servant raced into the room with fear in his eyes.
"Flora's gone!", he yelled.
