Legolas did as instructed, he placed upon his body fresh garments along with his armour followed by his bow, quiver and knives the prince was ready. Legolas left his room with
a heavy heart he knew he needed to speak to his father and he dreaded the moment when they had the heavy conversation. Taking the steps two at a time the prince quietly rushing around  his boots not making a single sound upon the polished marble, his own reflection staring back at him when he looked down a few times. he let out a long sigh as he entered the corridor to which led to his father's throne room.

Again the guards greeted him and let him pass into the room shutting the doors behind the prince. Sapphire eyes stared at the king, whom once again was indulging himself in fine wine his long silver garments touching the bottom of his throne as he cast an icy gaze upon his son, a gaze that Legolas knew all too well in his years of growing up here.

"Legolas...welcome my son now there is an orc park to the south of the woods there are only a few but they still pose a threat if they entered the woods, take your patrol and rid them from the boarders of my kingdom. Also Legolas...I will have no more of this foolishness of you consorting with a mortal man, you are my son and the heir to my throne I can not stretch it enough that you and I are the last ones left of this royal bloodline? You will marry someone of good stature to boost our political views in this world understood? The man you claim to love is a mortal, he will consort with a woman while you live your days out here, he does not love you Legolas let go of this childish infatuation  I will hear no more about it"

Legolas was not going to answer until his father said that Aragorn was going to consort with another, the Prince's words came out cold and sharp like a knife to his father.

"He would not do that..he has pledged his love for me and for no other I will not stand by while you insult the man I love! Just because you have become bitter with age does not mean I will, while you hide in your grand halls drinking wine I will risk my life for eternal peace across middle-earth"

Each word became heated and harsh, Legolas did not care if his father never spoke to him again, but he was not going to sit by and let the king insult someone he deeply cared for.

"Enough! Legolas open your eyes, when he dies will you subcome to grief? will you extinguish your life for one foolish mortal man!? I will not have this Legolas!" Each of the king's words were equally as harsh and hurtful, so hurtful that his father could not see the love that Aragorn presented for the elf that made him feel so alive.

With no other words to be spoken the prince took his leave of the throne room , exiting through the large oak doors to meet with his patrol, each of the Prince's thoughts subcome to rage, angry that his father could not accept the man that Aragorn is and will be in the near future, angry that his mother was not here to whisper words to his father.

Reaching the courtyard Legolas took his horse from one of the guards who were waiting for him, checking the saddle and packs, making sure everything else was in check he climbed on, the horse giving a soft neigh to its master as if greeting him back for another adventure.

Legolas raised a hand the patrol following him out the gates through the long ride through the sickened  forest, Legolas had no idea the sickness had spread so far out in Mirkwood. They needed help if it spread there would be nothing
left for either himself or Thranduil to rule!

"Keep your senses heightened they could be hiding in the forest already" Legolas reached for his bow, cocking an arrow ready

they hadn't gone so far out when he heard movement up ahead, silencing his patrol to stop he let his ears train upon the noise.

The noise was a rush it was heading right for them, heavy footsteps followed by a heavy breath, Legolas raised his bow firing out
a warning shot, when the noise did not cease to stop the archer set off another arrow, it zoomed through the trees like lightning, a shout gave way into the air, crows  flew away over head the archer knew he had hit his mark. Sliding off his horse the prince told his patrol to stay where they were, whatever he hit it was moaning lowly, an orc maybe? Legolas did not think he'd hit anything else, he was still so angry with his father he took it out on this moving target.

As the elf hopped over fallen trees, bushes and dead wood his eyes fell upon the figure lying upon his back, his eyes widened at the sight before him dropping his bow to the forest floor the elf rushed forward.

"Aragorn!!" Legolas had shot his beloved, he did not think the ranger would be so far out from the last place they had been, Legolas' heart stopped for a second he thought he had shot the other with a fatal wound, a breath escaped his lips as he knelt to his lover. The arrow had missed his heart only by mere inches Legolas let out a relaxed sigh, Elessar had gotten lucky today.

"I-Is that anyway to greet a loved one Mellonin?" Aragorn's smile cracked forth from all the pain, his eyes a little diluted as he stared at the elf, a colloused hand reached up to touch the prince's face and Legolas returned the gesture running a hand over Aragorn's muddy cheek a tear falling down his face, he'd shot his beloved how could he do such a thing?

Calling out to his patrol who hurried to their prince's side, they were all startled to see the man to which the Prince was murmuring sweet nothings to,

"He needs help..help me take him to Lasgalen for aid I cannot treat him here" Each guard was hesistant to pick the man up Legolas gave them a stern stare each elf leaning down to carry the man to a horse. Legolas was consumed with guilt, why was Aragorn here

what was he doing in the forest? this raised many questions for the prince all he would ask later.

Turning his back to the forest Legolas set to follow his guards back to Lasgalen to help his love return to full form.
