It was a genius idea, actually. I never actually saw who threw it, but it had to have been Catherine. At a concert one night, I saw something fly through the air towards me and instinctively stepped aside. It bypassed me completely and I continued singing without a second thought, but later as we were getting ready to leave I saw something tucked half-behind a speaker. A teddy bear. I felt a smile creep across my face and picked it up gently. It was a creamy butterscotch color with chocolate brown colored patches on the tummy, nose, and feet, and there was a little tag on a red ribbon around its neck. The inside read, "Will you be my boobear? Catherine XOXO" After it was a phone number and a couple of hearts. I buried my face in the teddy bear and took a deep sniff. No. No, it was impossible. I sniffed again. How? How could she have captured the exact scent of my old teddy bear? It had to be different. One more sniff confirmed that yes, the vanilla scent with a hint of rosemary and other herbs was spot-on. A hand on my shoulder made me jump, but it was just Zayn. "You alright, mate? You've been snogging that bear for a while now." I shook my head to clear it and answered, "Yeah, I'm fine. Just memories." Zayn raised an eyebrow. "Memories, eh? Well, we're leaving now. Don't want to be late, yeah?" I snapped out of it and quipped, "This from the one who spends ages in front of the mirror!" Zayn shoved me and walked towards the other boys. I stared a the bear for a second more before running to catch up with the boys. On the way home I debated texting her, but it was late. I'd text her in the morning. I slept with the bear that night, breathing in the familiar scent.
