I enter the school and see Riya leaning against the wall typing furiously on her phone. She is a good friend of mine.
Riya is my neighbour and as my mom has referred to earlier, Varsha's daughter. Her family is from India. She has dark brown straight hair which reaches past her shoulder. She also has light brown and tanned skin that many girls try to get but she got all that naturally.
I walk towards her and stand in front of her. Sensing my presence, she looks up from her phone and smiles in greeting. Then she looks at my face and a concerned look replaces the smile.
"Why are you looking like an angry bird? Or is it just me? And you look so angry that it's funny." she asks trying to control her laugh.
I roll my eyes at that.
"It's nothing. Just that, I think a new boy has joined the school and I became the lucky girl to meet him first. He's so arrogant." I say annoyance and sarcasm clear in my voice. "But actually, I didn't get enough sleep last night. So, I'm a little cranky. He just irritated me on top of that."
"Okay, whatever. Do you know, a new restaurant has opened nearby? I am so excited to go there with you!" She exclaimed.
"I know, I know... I wonder how you don't gain a single pound? Even though you eat like a pig," I laugh, my previous annoyance disappearing.
At that moment the bell rings, signaling to our first lecture.
I entered the class and sat on the bench next to Bianca. Bianca Collins is the most popular girl in our school. She is the head cheerleader and the prettiest girl. She's a brunette with curly hair, has beautiful grey eyes and heart-shaped lips. Her skin is darker than tan. Even though everyone says she is the Queen Bee, mean and all, she actually isn't anything like that.
She is mean to everyone initially but if she finds you good enough, she shows her soft side. We aren't actually friends, but I know she isn't mean.
Our history teacher, Mrs. Bhatt, enters the class and behind her Sarah and Maya -my best friends- enter.
Sarah and I had been best friends since first grade. We were very close and then came Maya in our Sophomore year. She was the new student roaming around the halls like a lost puppy and I helped her, then she met Sarah and the three of us immediately clicked. But Maya and Sarah are closer because I don't spend much time with them because I am either at the library or with Riya.
Maya takes the seat beside me. And Sarah takes the seat beside Maya.
I turn my attention back to the class.
"Hey, Bianca!" They greet smiling brightly.
"Hey," she says looking disinterested in them.
"OK class, listen. Today we will be learning about the French revolution. So, everyone, open the material that I gave you and start reading from page 1 to 20 now." Our teacher says and goes back to her work. She isn't the type to explain each and everything. She just gives us assignments and makes us learn the lessons by ourselves.
Maya gave a silent huff and ran a hand through her red hair.
Just as I am about to start reading, the door jolts open and there stands Knucklehead.
I swear I had a heart attack for a second.
The teacher looks up from her work annoyance clear in her expression.
"What?" She asks still annoyed.
"I am a new student," He says.
"And?" There is a long pregnant silence.
"Uhmm -"
"Why are you standing there like an idiot? Now should I throw flowers and spread a red carpet for you, Your highness? Go take a seat," She says sarcastically.
He ignores her and smirks.
"Hello everyone. I am Sebastian Williams. I am a new student and the new hot guy of this school. And I am single," saying that he winks and takes the only seat left behind me.
Seeing this, Sarah lets out a little glee and gives a cute smile to him as a greeting.
Mrs. Bhatt looks completely annoyed and if looks could kill he would be six feet under the ground. She glares at him and goes back to her work.
As he takes the seat, I groan and softly bang my head.
This day can't get any worst. Can it?
It definitely can!
