Two kids, a boy and a girl, are playing in the park on a sunny day. The girl is on the swing and the boy is pushing the swing back and forth with his five years old small hands. The environment is filled with their cheerful laughs and giggles.
Tired due to pushing the swing, the boy says," Vee, you keep swingin, I will go and drink some water I bough, okkkayyy?" In his chubby, high pitched voice and doesn't wait for girl to answer. The boy goes to the place where he kept his things and takes out his sipper bottle to drink some water.
Meanwhile the girl is swinging and suddenly a boy comes and pushes the girl off the swing and starts shouting at her to go away. She falls with a thud and scrapes her palms and her eyes starts tearing up. The boy's eyes widen as he sees the girl crying and leaves his bottle there and starts running towards the girl. Although his small feet aren't fast enough, he reaches them and kneels down in front of the girl. He wipes her tears and then stands up and turns to face the laughing boy who pushed her.
His hands tighten into little fists and he punches the boy's nose, his face red.
If this was a cartoon, steam would be coming out of his ears.
"DON TOUCH MY VEE AGAIN," he screams and the boy scrambles away clutching his nose and crying.
He turns towards the girl and gives her a small smile with a missing tooth," I will always plotect you vee," he whispers looking into her brown eyes as she hugs him.

I jolt awake with a headache and my head start pounding.
"Ugh! What kind of dream is that?"
I put a hand to my head and rub it soothingly. I let out a sigh and reach for my water bottle on the night stand and drink some water.
That dream felt so real as if I was there to witness it. And that boy looked so familiar.
I try to sleep again, tossing and turning. When that failed, I take a random book from my bookshelf and try to read it but I am not able to concentrate. I check the time on my alarm clock -which I had bought on my way to home- and it shows 1:18 A.M.
Finally, I give up and walk out of my room and stand in front of my parent's room. I contemplate before knocking on the door thinking my mom is asleep.
*Knock knock*
A minute or two later mom opens the door. And I immediately hug her.
"What happened, sweetie?" She asks obviously concerned.
"Nothing, I just can't sleep," I say still hugging her.
"Ok," she says tugging me back to my room. I look at her questioningly.
She sits at the head of my bed; legs folded and puts a pillow in her lap and pats it. So, I go and lay down on the bed and rest my head on the pillow. I close my eyes and mom starts stroking my hair.
The most relaxing thing ever is when your mom sits beside you and strokes your hair.
"You know Avery, when I was your age and couldn't sleep, your grandma used to do the same thing I am doing," mom says remembering grandma and her memories with her.
I lay still, my eyes open and observing my mom's face and the small satisfied smile playing on her lips.
I love it when she smiles.
After some time, I drift off into a dreamless sleep.
~
*Beep Beep Be-*I hurriedly wake up and see next to me and surprisingly find my mom there. She must have fallen asleep in my room last night.
I get out of bed and go towards my mom's side of the bed and place a kiss on her cheek. Then I slowly, still half asleep, I make my way towards the bathroom.
Then I follow my usual routine and then go downstairs to the kitchen. Since my mom is still sleeping, I thought I would make her some breakfast today just because I woke up early.
I look around the kitchen for ingredients to prepare some easy breakfast. I find a bread loaf, cheese and Nutella. I start making cheese sandwich for mom and Nutella sandwich for me. Then I make some coffee for both of us.
As I set everything on the table, mom comes into the kitchen fully dressed in her work outfit. And her hair is let down loose.
She looks surprised to see me in the kitchen and more surprised to see that the breakfast is ready.
She then rubs her eyes and again looks around, confusion in her eyes.
"Uhm, Avery are you sick?" She says touching my forehead.
"No, why?" I ask her smiling brightly which is really a rare thing in the morning.
"Am I in some kind of parallel universe, by chance?" she asks a sweet, confused smile playing on her lips.
"No mom, this isn't that big of a thing" I say loving my mom's reaction.
"You made breakfast and you are smiling! This is a big thing. This is not my Avery. But whoever you are I really love you," mom says jokingly.
"Mom!" I groan but then I laugh.
"So, let's eat the breakfast made by you," mom says smiling and sitting down on the chair.
"You have to. You have no other choice," I say crossing my hands.
"Yes, I know, now sit down and eat," mom says waiting for me to sit down.
I sit on the dining chair and start eating my Nutella sandwich. I really like Nutella. It's like my soulmate.
