~~Avery's P.O.V~
"Have you decided what to wear for tomorrow's date?" Riya asks me as she walks with me and Rachel, who is busy talking to a cute senior walking behind us, to our lockers.
After two months of flirting, blushing, and spending time together, Bennett finally asked me out on a date earlier this week. I swear, if he hadn't done it, I would've beat him to it. So, we are going on our first date tomorrow.
"I don't know. I don't want to look overdressed, nor do I want to look underdressed," I feel a little worried and nervous for this date. I don't want to mess this up. I like him.
"Don't worry about it, Belle, you have me as your friend for a reason now, don't you?" She smiles linking her arms with mine.
"What did I miss?" Rachel asks joining us again.
"Oh nothing," I dismiss immediately. Riya gives me a confused look. Bennett told me not to tell Rachel and Sebastian. I don't know why but I think he will tell them himself.
"Oh."
"Let's meet today evening and have a girls' night," Riya says.
"Sorry I can't, I have to help my mom with some stuff," Rachel apologizes.
"So, I guess it's only us, Aves," Riya smiles. We pass by my locker, and I put all my stuff in there and take out my cheer outfit to change into. We both got selected after giving the try-outs and honestly, it's been a different experience. I wonder why I always denied her offer because it's so fun and I even made friends with the cheer team.
Sebastian and Rachel's lockers are on either side of mine. He is standing at his locker and beside him is Bennett, looking handsome as ever in an orange-colored t-shirt and black jeans.
"Hey again," Bennett greets with his charming smile, giving me a side hug, which makes me warm inside.
"Hello again," I chuckle. Subconsciously, I glance at Sebastian. He was being quiet recently. Not speaking much, not laughing much. He isn't even making fun of Bennett like he usually does. I don't know if I am looking too much into it, but he seems to be distanced and distracted lately. I decided that I will talk to him afterward.
Sebastian glances at me and Bennett and glares at him. After sensing my stare, he walks past Bennett roughly brushing his shoulder with Bennett, nearly knocking him.
"What's up with him?" I ask Bennett nodding towards Sebastian's retreating figure.
"It's nothing, don't worry about it," he assures me with a smile.
"Avery let's go, I don't wanna be late," Rachel hurries, grabbing my hand and dragging me to the changing room.
"Okay bye guys, Aves I'll see you at your house," Riya adds as she walks towards her locker.
We change into our red and gold cheer outfits and go to the gym for our routine practice. The gym is painted in the same colors as our outfits. The cheer team is in one corner and the basketball team is practicing in another. The colors remind me of Gryffindor's house from Harry Potter making me giddy. The coolest thing is that our school mascot is a lion.
