Chapter 12 : Betrayal

Two days later...
[One day before the final court date]

Kasity :

I agreed to help Areson fight Sebastian. But I've gotten myself into large trouble... Unfortunately, tomorrow I'll have to support Sebastian again at the court... But I hope everything will go as planned...I spoke with Nathaniel and we've got a deal, a strategy we will use at the court in order for Areson to win.

My phone rang...

"Hello?" I answered.
"Kasy don't-" I hear a familiar voice which got interrupted as if someone forced her to.
Vanessa.
At that moment I panicked...

"Vanessa where are you? Are you alright?" I ask worried.

"My beautiful Ms. Damassiel... You shall get some rest, tomorrow's the final court date... Oh, and just a quick reminder... Win the court for me or I'll win this war for both of us. Do you think we did not know about you and Kingstone?" a voice says, and I froze to its words. Sebastian Perez. He knew it, he knew everything. How does he even know everything we do? What kind of spies work for him?
Areson never said this would be easy.

"I swear to God, Sebastian, if you dare touch her, I'll find you, wherever you are and make you remember the day you saw the devil himself" I say angrily and slowly trying to make him understand each word I was saying.

Then I hung up.

I have to call Areson.

No no no. I shouldn't tell anybody about this...or else...

Alright then Sebastian, let's finish this.

[The court date]

Areson :

Me and Nathaniel entered the courtroom. A bit late I must say. I saw Kasity. Finally she's agreed to work with me against Sebastian.

The judge came in and we started.

When Kasity started to talk I noticed that she was presenting false information against me. But it was so well fixed that it seemed as if it was true. She was nervous, I could see that.
She's never so nervous. In fact, she's always angry and confident.

I was wondering what was going on when Nathaniel whispered to me.

"She is sabotaging us" he said slowly implying that we were in trouble.

At that moment, when we finally found out that she betrayed us only to feed her ego, we decided to play the last card. Something we didn't plan to.

When Nathaniel's turn came, he announced that Sebastian's brother, Daniello Perez, had killed my father some years ago. This fact, helped him convince the judge to announce Sebastian guilty, as he was planning revenge.

Kasity didn't have time to say that we killed Daniello and his men. It seemed like her strategy failed at a great extent...

We won. Sebastian Perez, eventually, did not take my businesses as I was proven innocent and legal after all.

We got out of the court...

She was walking next to me.

"Congratulations to your magnificent strategy Ms. Damassiel, I really do appreciate the fact that you acted as planned." I say ironically and angrily of course.

"Listen, I did not intend on doing this it was unexpected because-" she started saying, but I cut her off.

"Kasity, I trusted you. You betrayed us. Thank God Nathaniel had a secret card, or else, Sebastian would have won and taken my businesses" I say, looking really disappointed on her.

"So this is it! Areson Kingstone, the successful businessman who doesn't even care about anybody else. Did you ask me Areson? Did you ask me why I betrayed you?" She starts saying and I could notice her eyes starting to tear up.

"I already know the reason Kasy. Your ambitious self wanted to win again. You can't always win when there are other people in the game" I finally tell her as I step in my car and leave.

She looked angry but hurt as well. We agreed on something and I trusted her. Now I know nobody's worth my trust.

Never feel safe
I'm tongue , tied
Never let out my rage
Try to breaking this cage
But where would I go?

I'm stuck , living a life of  bad luck giving me nothing
Doors shut, alone in my head
I'm out of control•
