Chapter 26 : You Were Never On My Side

Areson :

...I heard some familiar heels approaching...

"Can't believe you're alive" Victoria shadily says...

"Can't believe you're still looking for trouble with me" I angrily tell her...

"You know Areson? Kasy is back in the business with Perez... Well, it seems like she's one of us" she smiles provocatively...

I laugh, but don't answer. It's not worth it. I know she's lying. But what if...

"Does she know?" I ask her.

"Of course. She's not surprised. Actually, she doesn't even care" she laughs.

I try to answer but then I felt a ripping pain on my chest. I struggled to breathe and I felt my eyes closing. I tried to keep them open...

"He's having a crisis!" [doctor]

Kasity :

My phone rings...

Tristan.

"Hello?" I answer.

"Kasity you need to come back, Areson is here and I was just notified that his state is crucial" He yelled.

His words echoed in my ears like lightning as I was not aware of the situation... At that moment, I felt weak and sat on a nearby chair in my office...

"Tristan what are you talking about?? How did Areson end up there?????" I tried to ask as my voice was trembling and my hand shaking...

"Kasity there's no time!" He shouts once again...

"How am I supposed to come there, I should travel for at least 6 hours" I shouted not being able to control myself...

"I didn't know Areson was still there! Nobody told me! I don't even know what's going on " I started screaming angrily and then I hang up.

Six hours later, Kasity was back at the apartment they stayed, and called Tristan.

"Where are you?" I try to speak, but I couldn't...

"There's a nearby hospital, close to the company Perez used to hold his meetings when you were here" he answers but... he sounded terrified... What had happened...

I finally arrive at the hospital...

I could barely walk as I felt I was going to faint....

I reach for the room Tristan told me...

As I arrive, I notice John, Avery, Nathaniel and Tristan outside...

"Tell me what happened" I say, tears running down my face.

They told me to sit down and keep calm...

"Areson was sent here with severe traumas the day you left. Victoria and Perez's people. He's been unconscious for the past two weeks. His state is crucial. Now, we're waiting for the doctors..." John explains and I felt my body ready to fall...

After some minutes, the doctors came...

"Mr. Kingstone is inside, we managed to deal with his crisis and now if someone of you wants to talk to him, he can go, only for 15 minutes..." he announces...

I get up and open the door...

I see him laying on the bed, eyes closed...

I run to him and touch his hand...

He slowly opens his eyes...

"Areson?" I say as I look straight in his eyes...

"Kasity" he mumbles...

"Areson I'm sorry..." i cry...

Areson :

Kasity... she was finally by my side again...but did I really want her there?

"Kasity...answer me one question. Did you make a new deal with Sebastian?"

Kasity :

What did he just ask me...

"Ares, listen, please calm down I'll explain to you everything..." I try to hold back my tears...

"Did you? Kasity?" He insists...

I didn't know what to say...

I'll explain.

"Yes, but please let me-" I confess...

"Stop." He says... angrily...

"I've heard enough" he answers, then closes his eyes and takes back his hand...

"Areson Please don't do this to me..." I start crying...

"That was the reason you left abruptly that morning?" He asks, his eyes still closed, his head leaning back.

"No Areson." I get up, still upset...

"You are lying" he slowly says...

"Areson the reason I left that day, was because I saw you with Victoria" I finally tell him...

"Kasity, I don't want to listen to your excuses.... Please, just please..." I hear him say, his eyes still closed, a small tear coming from one eye...

"Areson...Are you feeling fine?" I try to touch his chest, but he removes my hand...

Areson :

"Kasity please...i'm not feeling fine...Please leave... Just notify the doctors..."

"Areson..." Her voice starts to break...

The particular lyric (you were never on my side) has a really deep and personal meaning to me. It truly explains the betrayal part...
But also, this lyric causes me strong emotions. To me, it means that the person you loved for a long time, was eventually not emotionally by your side just like the way you wanted. That person may have been really loving towards you, but at the same time, you felt that he/she was never by your side, as you didn't feel you were in the same path with them...
