The three of us took the bus home, exhausted and stomachs full after an eventful day.
"Hey honey, how was hanging out with your friends?" My mom asked.
"Oh it was fun!"
"What did y'all do? We just hungout downtown, and met some new friends too! I actually have a date tonight that I need to get ready for."
"Ooooh a date? Who's the lucky boy?" Mom asked casually.
"Er- yeah, boy" I said under my breath. "Uh, his name is Dane. He's really sweet."
So here I was, going on a date with the girl of my dreams, and I couldn't even tell my mom about it. I never intended to use Dane as a beard, it just kind of happened because I panicked when my mom said, "who's the lucky boy?" Why do parents have to be so clueless? Why can't I just casually mention I'm dating a girl without it being a huge deal? God, I hate heteros.
I went up to my room and began getting ready for the date. I finally settled on a cute little black dress that is a little low cut and showed off my neck and collarbones well. Looking at myself in the mirror on my wall, I feel beautiful. I just hope Kristen thinks the same.
As 7:30 rolled around, I grabbed my little purse to match my dress and headed out the door. The bus downtown was running late, but I had left early, so all is well.
At 8:00 sharp, we rolled up and I hopped off the bus and made my way into the Hampton Inn. Kristen was there in the lobby waiting for me.
"Hey! Wow. You look stunning." She said smiling. I watched as she took in my outfit. I noticed she glanced extra long at my collarbones and neck. Am I imagining things, or did her eyes just flash a shade of red? Must've been the light.
"Me? Take a look at yourself! You're perfect," I countered as she pulled me in for a little kiss.
"I was thinking we could go out to dinner at this fancy rooftop restaurant, and then Rob and Dane wanted to go out for drinks after. Sound good?
"perfect."
And with that, we were off. We walked the streets downtown, and she quietly and gently slipped her hand into mine. It felt good to walk the streets holding hands with Kristen, not caring who saw or what anyone thought of us. A few minutes later, we arrived at the restaurant.
Cato's Rooftop Dining the building read. We headed inside and Kristen checked in at the front desk, for she told me she made a reservation earlier that day.
"Alright, you guys can head to the elevator there and it will take you to your table at the top floor! Enjoy :)" The nice lady told us.
"After you," Kristen said smiling as the elevator door slid open.
"Woah. That's a lot of buttons," I remarked, as there were, in fact, a plethora of numbered buttons in the elevator.
"Yeah, this place has 100 floors. The view from the top is spectacular." She grinned that sheepish little grin that she does, and then pulled me in for a kiss. I kissed her back, passionately. The next thing I knew she had me pinned up against the wall, making out violently. And I loved every second of it. I kissed her back, wanting more. More. The next thing I knew we were on the ground. Her onto of me and then me on top of her. Our bodies were one, intertwining on the elevator floor, arms wrapped around one another, making out then pausing to look into each other's eyes.
"I want you" she said, helping me back up onto my feet.
"I want you more." I replied, not breaking the hot eye contact.
"No. I don't want you. I need you. All of you." She said, and then, multiple things happened at once. The lights started flickering. The elevator came to a halt. Kristen's eyes flashed red, but this time they stayed red. The lights in the elevator turned off as she advanced forward and sank her teeth into my neck.
