I stifled a scream as I felt the venom enter my neck. As it began to spread, however, I couldn't hold it in. I screamed, not knowing if from pain, or pleasure, or both. Of course. It all made sense now. Everything Dane had said to me earlier began to fall into place. Of course. Kristen is a vampire! The venom continued to spread, but the pain was easing. It was running its course. I was turning into a vampire.

"OH GOD WHAT HAVE I DONE???" Kristen said, slumping back against the elevator wall as the lights flickered back on. She looked horrified with herself, blood smeared on her face.

"No no no it's okay it's okay!" I replied, forcing a smile through the pain.

"I- you're- I'm so sorry. I couldn't help myself. I try so hard to control it but sometimes it overtakes me and I- I just- Oh this was a bad idea I'm so sorry I shouldn't have brought you here." She half stammered half spoke.

"No really, you've done me a favor!" I reassured her. "It's my dream to be a vampire. I didn't know vampires were even real until today and now I AM one! This is amazing!"

"You're not mad? I just attacked you!"

"NO I'm not mad! I've never been happier! You just took my boring life and turned it upside down! There's no one else I would want to turn me into a vampire. <3"

"So you don't hate me? You still want to finish our date?"

"NO I don't hate you! I couldn't be more thankful for you right now!"

The elevator began to move again, almost to the top now.

"Why did the elevator stop?" I asked, realizing that the elevator seemed to be responding to what was happening inside.

"Oh. Just special vampire perks I guess. When my emotions are heightened I can kind of control things like that with no explanation. I guess it's one of my vampire gifts- just like in Twilight how Alice can see the future, remember? I can control certain things with my mind when I'm worked up enough."

"Dope." I couldn't wait to learn everything about being a vampire.

"Do I need to cover this bite mark on my neck? What about the blood?" I asked her, realizing we were about to leave the elevator and be in public once again.

"Oh, don't worry about the bite mark. They're vampire friendly here, that's why I like it so much." She replied as the wiped and licked the last of the blood off her face.

The elevator doors opened and we stepped out into the most gorgeous rooftop dining venue I had ever seen. It was like a garden, with trees growing and even a waterfall at one end that fed into a river that wound around the rooftop. Our table was near a beautiful tree with pink blooms, and we had a perfect view of the city below. It seemed to stretch out for miles.

Over dinner, Kristen caught me all up to date on the vampire world. She told me that both she and Robert were actual vampires, having turned when they filmed twilight. Ironically, the casting directors had hired a few ACTUAL vampires (including Marlane Barnes) when filming, so soon the whole cast and crew had been turned. I asked about Dane, and she told me that he was a human, having not decided if he wanted Robert to turn him or not yet. "Forever is a long time," he had said. I guess some people's lives are good enough that they don't need to be a vampire to find happiness. Weird.

Kristen told me all about the perks of being a vampire, from the heightened senses, to the super speed/agility, to the special powers some vampires inherited.

"How will I know if/when I have a special vampire gift?" I asked her, pondering the possibilities.

"I'm not sure. I guess you just know when you know."

After dinner, we headed back down to go out for drinks with Rob and Dane. Before we went, however, we headed across the street to CVS to get some hydrogen peroxide to clean my vampire bite wound, along with some makeup to cover it nicely.

"Much better," Kristen said as we put the finishing touches on the wound makeup in the bathroom. She somehow looked even more beautiful in the shitty bathroom lighting. I was falling for her more and more every second.
