                      ~JASPER'S POV~

"Well isn't this exciting?" I said.

"I'm sure it is." The car pulls at the driveway with a soft screech. I force myself out of the seat and out of the vehicle. I watch as cars swarm into the entry, people cavorting in their dresses and suits. While I stood there silently inspecting the scene, mother had already been escorted out by our chauffeur.

"Smile, at least pretend that you're excited." She nudges me by the shoulder and I cast her a small frown.

"I am; I just don't have to show it all the time." I was beyond happy.

"Amelia would be delighted." mother said. I pause for a moment, and then I look at mother whose lips pursed in a thin line. You have got to be kidding me!

"Give me the benefit of your wisdom," I sighed.

"Alright, you can dispense with the tough guy act to begin with. And second, 'smile'. Son, I believe you're a smart boy, nothing and no one has proved otherwise. Mind your manners, and have fun."

"That's it? Anybody could've figured that out."

"Oh stop, go look for Amelia now. Run along!"

Well that's my cue. I fixed my tie and cleared my throat. There were so many people indeed, majority from the noble houses. It was loud and bustling, as expected from a party of course. My eyes dart around from face to face and to just...everywhere.

"You must be Prince Jasper." A voice interrupts me, and I turn towards it. A lady, right about my age was a couple of inches away from me. She had worn the brightest set of clothes I've ever seen, it was almost blinding. Literally.

"Ah, yes it is. And who might you be?" She giggled ever so softly, that melody could have given me wild goosebumps, glad it didn't show. I shook my head lightly and managed a smile.

"Courtney Rizelle Hames, Princess of Lemainry."

~AMELIA'S POV~

"Father!" I squeal in excitement as I ran to my towering father. He had been speaking with a few of my guests, I mean my parents' guests.

"Amelia darling! How I missed you!" He took me by the hand, twirled me around and lifted me up from my feet. "Happy birthday!" he added, peppering tender kisses on my cheeks. I pulled away, chuckling in excitement.

"I'm glad you made it!"

"I wouldn't miss your birthday for the world." He assured me, kissing me one more time on the cheek.

"Say, why don't I give you a piggy back ride hmm? You always loved that. For old times' sake, what do you say?" he bents down at my height and winks playfully. True he used to carry me in his back all the time before but considering the place and scenario, it's sort of embarrassing. I'd love to refuse him, for my sake but the way he was looking at me; so eager, as if he was pleading. Now I'm sure I wouldn't be able to turn him down at this point.

"Oh alright, but don't go running around like a headless chicken okay?"

"I can't promise you that, sweetheart." He winks again and got to his knees so I could climb on. It was embarrassingly successful, all eyes were on me.

They were laughing, and whispering amongst themselves like the bickering, self-absorbed aristocrats they are. I bury my face against my father's nape in hopes to save myself from those prying eyes.

"Greetings, ladies and gentlemen. Today is a very special day for me and for my very special someone. My daughter, Princess Regina Amelia Creesha Francine Knoxxlington, Happy Birthday!" At the end of his sentence, I raised my head in surprise. The guests burst into a fit of applause, and I couldn't hide the smile tugging at my lips. I gathered all the courage I had in me and waved at them.
