If there was one thing that bore me, I decided it was this party. I wasn’t particularly fond of this occasion; however Mother mentioned that she had only requested this party so she could invite Amelia over; a clever endeavor if I do say so myself. Moreover, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t relieved to hear that.
Amelia came as anticipated; I caught a glimpse of her by the entrance. She stood there in her dandelion dress glancing at several faces and whatnot until our eyes met. I noticed the crown atop her head and my brows furrow.

“Hello, weirdo.”

“I’m not the only weirdo here!”She laughs and slaps my arm.

“Ow! Must you hurt me?”

“Well for starters, you seem funny and I hit every time I laugh.” She replied.

“Well that’s not very nice.”

“Oh please, you’ll be fine! Here hold this,”
She began gently taking her crown off of her head then quickly propped it on mine instead taking me by surprise. I probably looked silly with it. She untied the ribbon that was once carefully woven around her wrist and undid her bun. Her hair flowed off in its arrangement in a cascade of waves then tied the ribbon she had to it. When she finished, she glances at me then slaps me once again.

“You really need to stop that!” I frowned, rubbing my arm.

“I can’t help it, you look like a princess.”
“Stop it!”

“Okay, Okay I will.”

“Why don’t we go meet our Mother’s for some tea?”

“I hate tea. I don’t even understand why people drink it, it tastes like grass with a hint of sugar."

"It's not that bad you know, you just have to add the right amount of lump."

"Lump? What's that?"

"The sugar"

"Your ridiculous, do you realize that?"

"When did I not?"

"Never! Let's go play!" She said as she pulled my arm

"You want me? You want us to play?"

"Yeah. Your the only one her and your the only one I'm talking to at the moment."

"Well then, how on Earth are you supposed to play in that dress?"

"I can tuck it in. It's no hassle really, it's not a gown."

"No! No tucking anything for you!"

"But how am I supposed to play? I don't wear pants. Maybe I can tie the hem of my dress" she said as she tried to make a knot out of her dress. I quickly stopped her from what ever it is that she's doing and looked straight into her eyes.

"No, let's just play some other time."

“Fine, what do you want to do then?” she asked

“Why don’t we just go to the Grand Theater in the palace?” I suggested.

“Sounds fun, let’ go!” She scurried past me and started walking ahead.

“Amelia, at least walk slowly and…take my arm for the sake of formality.”

“And why would I do that?” She said, casting a backward glance at me.

“Because that’s what Princesses do?”

“I’m no Princess. Not a lady even just Amelia. Good old Amelia,”

“I’m sorry to break it to you, Amelia but my mother says that all girls are ladies and I suppose you are fully aware that you are. You’re a girl then you ‘are’ a lady.
