"Time to wake up!" A high pitched voice yelled. I groggily opened my eyes and saw Ginny in the room. I rolled over and closed my eyes.
I was about to fall asleep again when I felt someone poke my forehead. I ignored it and pressed my face into the pillow, only to then be poked in the side of the head.
I turned my head back and opened my eyes. Nat was laying next to me, her dark brown hair messy from sleep and a sly smirk on her face. We were sharing the bed that Ron's older brother Charlie used to sleep in before he moved to Romania.
"What?" I groaned, getting irritated. "Happy birthday." I rolled my eyes. "You're lucky you're one of the only people that I let wake me up in the mornings." "Well if I didn't, you probably would've been late to every class at school." I turned over again so my back was facing her. "Yes, that would've been simply tragic."
Ginny was now on the other side of the room, shaking Ron and Harry who were sleeping on the floor with sheets and pillows.
Nat sat up behind me and started pulling on my arm. "Come on. You've had enough sleep." I pulled my arm away from her and used it to cover my head with her pillow. She climbed over me and got out of the bed.
I wasn't prepared when she yanked the pillow from my grasp and started beating me with it. "Get up!" She yelled with every hit. I got into a fetal position and covered my face with my arms. "Okay, okay, I'm up!"
She stopped and threw the pillow on the other side of the bed. I sat up and rubbed my eyes. Nat picked up her glasses from the windowsill and slid them onto her face.
I wasn't surprised when I found a kitchen full of people on the first floor. Everyone was gathered around the dining table while Mrs. Weasley filled each plate with scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, and bacon.
Everyone seemed cheerful that morning; Mum was explaining the different aspects of the everyday life of a muggle to Mr. Weasley, who was hanging onto her every word, and Fred and George had stolen Percy's prefect badge and were tossing it back and forth to each other to keep it away from him.
I sat in an empty seat in between Nat and Dad, across from Harry and Ron who sat next to Mr. Weasley. A chorus of 'Happy Birthday' filled my ears as Mrs. Weasley pat my back, Fred leaned over and ruffled Harry's hair, and Dad placed a kiss on my head.
I was about to start eating when something hit me in the forehead and landed next to my plate. It was Percy's prefect badge.
I looked up and found the twins looking down at their food as if they knew nothing about it. I picked it up and tossed it across the table to Percy, earning an appreciative nod. "You're no fun." I heard George mumble.
While everyone was eating, we heard the front door open in the next room. "The cavalry has arrived!" Sirius' voice yelled through the house, and he and Remus entered the room not five seconds later. "Oh great, the other human headache." Mum muttered, not looking up from her plate.
Sirius wrapped an arm around her chest and hugged her from behind. "That's right, and I'm in quite a loud mood today." I raised an eyebrow. "As opposed to any other day?" Remus looked at me, exhaustion clear in his eyes. "You have no idea."
Sirius let go of Mum and took two wrapped boxes from Remus that I had just noticed he was holding when he came in. The long-haired man handed the identical sized boxes to Harry and I. "Happy birthday from your favorite uncle." He said. Remus gave him a certain look as if to say 'I'm not in the mood right now.'
I scooted my chair away from the table a bit so I didn't drop it in my breakfast as I tore the thin paper away. After I got that out of the way, I was holding a cardboard box with nothing on it that gave of a hint of what was inside. I lifted the lid. It was an old fashioned-looking Slytherin Quidditch jumper, obviously not purchased recently. It was dark green, and had my number, 07, in silver on the front with a serpent right above it. It had some small tears here and there, but I realized why when I turned it over. R. Black was in silver at the top of the back, and 07 in silver once again. It was Sirius' little brother, Regulus', Quidditch jumper from when he was the team seeker in his school days. Sirius was the only person in his family who wasn't sorted into Slytherin at Hogwarts, obviously getting Gryffindor instead.
