I couldn't tell you how many times I thought my father just never learned to read, because he stared at that slip for what felt like ages.

Nothing was said until he finally asked, "How did you find this?"

I jumped slightly, not expecting him to speak. "A cabinet fell over in Filch's office. I saw their names and picked it up."

Dad went silent again, but not for as long.

"Did you show Harry?" He asked.

I nodded. "Yeah."

He nodded also, releasing a heavy breath. "Okay, you probably have questions." Just a few. "I can answer them, but with both you and your brother at once."

He placed a hand on my back and started walking again. The entire way to the Hospital Wing, he was running his hand through his tousled, jet-black hair.

When we got there, I told Nat, Hermione, and Ron to give the four of us a moment and wait outside. They all nodded and left. Madam Pomfrey, probably sensing a tense situation about to happen, went into her office and closed the door.

"Alright there, Prongslet?" Dad asked Harry, patting his leg through the blanket.

"Yeah. Madam Pomfrey said the bones should be regrown by tomorrow morning." Harry replied, and everyone went silent again.

"Did you show him?" My twin brother telepathized to me.

"Yeah. Why do you think it's so awkward?"

Dad walked around the bed and stood next to Mum, who was still sitting in the little wooden chair. "Darling?" He said.

"Hm?"

He held out the slip of paper. "The twins found this."

She took it from him and read over it a couple of times, before dropping her arms in her lap. "Oh..."

"You're right. This is awkward."

Mum and Dad shared a long look. Harry and I kept exchanging glances, waiting for something to happen.

"Love, I think it's time they know." Dad said. I frowned.

Mum had an uneasy look on her face. She seemed as if she was having a mental argument with herself. A few seconds went by, and she nodded.

"Know what?" I asked.

Neither Harry nor I ever thought we would hear a story like the one we did that day, and for it all to be true.

According to Mum and Dad, Sirius and Remus came out to each other at the end of their fourth year, and they didn't anyone, including our parents, until the middle of their fifth year. But the word got around the school fast, and many people, including Lucius Malfoy and Sirius' own brother Regulus, ridiculed and belittled their relationship.

After everything that happened to us on Halloween, 1981, they both decided to break things off for their own safety. They never told us because they didn't feel that there was any need to. The irony of the entire situation was that if either Harry or I ever asked, they would've told us.

I actually used to assume that Sirius and Remus were married when I was little, mainly because they lived together like Mum and Dad did, but I grew out of thinking it when I got older.

Mum and Dad stayed with Harry a little while longer, but eventually took their leave as dinner approached. They said they wouldn't say anything to Remus or Sirius until we got a chance to ask them about everything ourselves, which would probably be at Christmas.
