Chapter 5

Noelle sighed as she continued to look at the clock as it ticked away slowly.

Noelle clicked her tongue to the rhythm of the clock absolutely bored out of her mind, she just empty right at the moment as if someone just went over to her and scooped out her innards with a ice-cream spoon. She shuddered at the analogy glad she hadn't watched a single horror movie in her entire existence.

She tapped her shoes against the wooden floor, doing anything to distract herself, break would be over in a few minutes but it dragged on absolutely forever.

Dr Alphys shuffled into the classroom, books tucked under her arm and gave Noelle a confused glare, "H-how long have you been in here? It's break N-Noelle.", Alphys reminded as Noelle just seemed to be in a daze.

The yellow lizard set the books aside and brought up a chair, "W-what seems to be the problem?", Alphys asked as she readjusted her small brimmed glasses on her steep snout,

"....Girl troubles.", Noelle mumbled before her face heating up realising she said that aloud and covering her face, her brown fur practically on fire with blush,"Ohmygodohmygodohmygod-",

"Its o-okay! I'm not going to tell anyone! Pr-promise! Besides! P-people are more accepting nowadays, t-trust me! I know what it feels like!", Alphys patted Noelle's shoulders, "You're the smartest s-student I've ever t-taught, you'll think of something.", Alphys encouraged despite her stammering.

Noelle sighed in half relief as Alphys walked away and began to write today's assignment on the black board, she didn't have much else to do so she decided to get a head start on work, besides she needed it.

Anything to take her mind off Susie.

Susie felt uncomfortable. Stares. People. Looking at her.

Her newest outburst spread like wildfire.

And she could tell how much everyone hated her. She walked head lowered as Kris waked beside her extremely closely, not allowing anyone to get close enough to even breath in the wrong direction.

No one would ever hurt his friend.

Susie's boots echoed against the empty halls as she made it closer to class, Kris still by her side.

The door slammed  as she kicked wide open, Alphys was startled for a moment but was so easily accustomed to it wit was practically white noise to her.

Susie looked around the room and paled.

She was there.

Susie swiped the hair over her eyes to cloak the panic in her eyes and waltzed on over to Noelles table as Kris walked past.

Susie tapped the desk as the deer girl looked up and squeaked, looking ready to pass out there and then. Susie gulped and coughed into her hand nervously. Noelle's nervousness subdued, now she was mostly confused and slightly delighted to see her crush standing before her despite her hating her guts for no logical reason.

"I'm sorry.", Susie said, practically choking on the last word acting as if it was some sort of disease.

Noelle didn't know what quite to make of her response. It was....emotionless.

Noelle blinked and Susie already walked past and sat at her own desk.

Well...she apologised at least. That meant she wasn't so bad after all....

But she called you such awful things? Why still care about her? What is so special about one monster?

Noelle waved her hand over her face, Not now! Concentrate on the work!
