Growls and Confusion

Aeriella's POV
"Mom..." I groaned as she jumped around, yes my mother literally jumped around me and my mate with a plate of bacon and orange juice. No they don't live with me so she couldn't have heard, not that I'm a pansy ass screamer or anything.
She chanted, "Lemme see lemme see lemme see!" Like a schoolgirl before making the grabby hands towards us. I groaned and glanced to Aaron who seemed to find her behavior amusing.
"Nice to know you find this funny." I mumbled and he grinned like an idiot earning a light punch to the incredibly hot bicep courtesy of me.
Mom gripped our hands and inspected them with a serious face before squealing and tackling us, well attempting to at least, in a teary giggly mess, "Oh I'm so happy for you! My eldest baby finally found happiness."
I felt myself blushing as I looked away, "Mo-om..."
She leaned back and wiped away a tear, "Oh it's quite alright dear, why when I met your father we were out of public and into a bedroom faster than a bat outta hell."
I sighed and rose my hand for her to stop, "Mom I don't want to hear about your and dad's sex life."
She chuckled and patted my shoulder with an unmistakable sad glimmer to her eyes, "Oh alright, here go eat something for breakfast while I go get the boys."
I shrugged and glanced at Aaron, "I hope your brother and Beta wake up easily."
"Why?"
"Because mom's waking them up."
He started laughing, "They'll be fine, werewolves have excellent hearing and are generally easily disturbed sleepers in an unfamiliar environment."
I nodded and looked back to the table where food was sitting, "So uh what'd you train in when in Alpha school?"
He shrugged, "Relations, economics, leadership, emergency procedures, military tactics... The usual."

Aaron's POV
She seemed only mildly interested in the food and since we're alone I decided to ask a question, "So, uh, do dragon marks come with any benefits? Like I know wolves basically get to get into each others heads, so is there any weird stuff I have to watch out for?"
I watched her eyes roll back as she thought. She chewed her lip and I felt my eyes on her lips the whole time. Good gods I want to kiss those rosy lips.
My thoughts were cut off by her mother clearing her throat, "Am I interrupting anything?"
"Nah..."
"Actually... Hey mom what are the specific dragon bond benefits? I can't think of them off the top of my head..." Aeriella looked at her mom from where she sat with her arms now crossed and brows furrowed in thought.
The elder woman thought then smiled gently as if remembering something well, "Well let's see... You'll share each other's health as well as eyesight at times. Say if you're in distress Aer then Aar will see it through your eyes."
I chuckled at her use of the same name, "So I don't have to worry about finding her location, she'll tell me. Any other weird things I have to worry about?"
"Hm... Oh you'll have to worry about when she goes into heat, but I'm sure you'll enjoy that. And.... Oh what else is there.... Oh you'll be able to be separated from each other for a longtime but during this time your dreams will connect and when you get back you'll just want to be close but that parts normal for any mate of any species, oh and kids normally come one by one instead of in litters just an FYI."
She winked and Aeriella groaned under her breath, "Mom you really don't have anything to expect anytime soon."
I frowned, "Why not? It's not like pups are anything bad or not worth their trouble."
She rolled her eyes towards me, "Because I don't plan on getting all big and fat anytime soon on top of having to make sure that my Tribe stays afloat."
She looked at me and spoke as if it was obvious which made my wolf half growl, but thankfully I bit it back, "I'm not stupid Aeriella, I do realize those things too."
She rose an eyebrow, "Then why question me?"
"Because I wanted to know your reasoning behind it."
"Well you could've guessed, I mean it's pretty obvious."
"Don't treat me like I'm stupid."
"I'm not, you're just asking stupid questions."
I tried to take a deep breath to calm myself but instead scented my brother and his Beta coming meaning they'd probably heard the whole thing.
John grinned as he walked in, "Morning, we interrupting something?"
I let a slight growl escape letting him know that he wasn't fooling me in the slightest.
