Aeriella's POV

When I finally got up and heard growling I don't think I've moved that fast to be by someone's side since my father last came home. I felt my eyes change and heard myself growl. I'd protect him no matter what. I don't know what his brother's problem is, but he better not touch a hair on my Aaron's head.

Leaping down the steps I was by his side in seconds and his arms were around me. I felt his strong embrace send calming shocks throughout my body. His chest was huffing heavily and his fangs were elongated and eyes had become the amber of a wolf. I felt a tidal wave of protectiveness wash over me and somehow knew it wasn't only mine. So he's going to protect me, eh? Well I guess that's not exactly a bad thing.

When his mother ordered us to follow her I bit back a retort knowing that I shouldn't get on her bad side. My mother always told me that you never want to cross your mother-in-law because she'll make your life hell if you do. I'm sure she's not a bad person... right? I mean Aaron wouldn't be as sweet as he is if he was raised by a tyrant... I think...

He squeezed my hand and winked probably to reassure me that I'm right. I mean, I'm always right even if I'm wrong. Sipping the hot delicious caffeinated drink I looked around. The trees were so green and leafy much like the ones near my home, just more of the deciduous type. Aaron swung our entwined hands back and forth with a big dorky grin on his face. His eyes looked like a child with a whole world of favorite toys in front of him. I felt my stomach flutter as the word cute floated to my mind.

He began to laugh that deep seated laugh and winked, "So you think I'm cute eh? I guess I do have that boyish charm."

I felt one of those rare blushes cover my face and nudged him with my shoulder, "Get out of my head, you creeper."

He only grinned wider and spun me around to the front of him. His large hands covered my shoulders as he stared into my eyes, "Aeriella," my name in his voice sent shivers through me, "I will always be in your head from now on until death do us part. Likewise, you'll also be able to get into my head."

My eyes widened as the weight of his words hit me. That means I'll never have my own private space from now on, not even in my own head? I didn't sign up for this commitment! He chuckled as I started to freak out a bit. My mind started to race and flipped between a million things at once as I started to think of all the bad things that could happen with him in my head.

He blinked a few times and squeezed my hand, "I'm going to pretend like I can't feel a million things going through your head because it's giving me a headache."

Good. Stay out of my head. I don't need you snooping. I've gotta find a way to block him out, maybe a mental blockade or something? I shook my head and looked around at the leafy trees and the broad, leaflike shadows they cast over the walking paths. I like this place, it's more green than many other places I've visited. Maybe a town full of werewolves is more environmentally conscious than humans because they feel the direct impacts of their actions.

We caught up to his mom outside of the house we'd visited yesterday belonging to his parents. She was pretty and had a well put together appearance about her. If I hadn't just seen her order around her alpha sons I would not have thought she was capable of doing so, but that's what is most scary about her type. You never know what they're capable of until they are pushed to do something.

Aaron's POV

She really thinks fast, not that I'd expect anything less from her, but that was just insane. Those scenarios she came up with flashed by too fast for me to actually read them and I really did start to get a headache so I pulled back. I can still feel her emotions but don't have direct access to her thoughts like she thinks I do. I can use this to my advantage. She'll have no idea what's happened.
