Kara's POV:
We both slipped outside in the darkness. It wasn't completely dark, as the sun had only finished setting. Stars were starting to appear and glimmer in the night sky, winking down on us like they were wishing us good luck. The nightly breeze rippled across my face but i wasn't cold. I had changed into a light grey shirt, my gadget belt, and a thin hooded jacket which fell down to my thighs. I was also wearing a thin layered khaki-coloured track pants, my sword placed on my back as usual, wearing long lace-up, brown combat boots.
We escaped up the podium and through the side doors and set off down the street.
"Where exactly is the west square?" asked Jack, as we hurried down the streets. "I've never heard of it."
"You haven't heard of it?" I said, a little surprised. I've been to the west square numerous times to the markets by myself and with my parents. "Haven't you been there? There's hundreds of people there, it's where everyone does their market shopping and stuff. People trade food there."
"Right." mumbled Jack. We turned a left and continued our way forwards.
It took about fifteen minutes to reach the west square. It was packed with people, young, middle-aged and old. We had to squeeze through people to reach the front and make our way forward at night, all with hoods on and entering markets and stores. People were pushing barrels or animal fur, meat, vegetables and bread. Shabby stalls had sprung up on the pathways, jingling necklaces and jewelry, some claiming that it was genuine, but only costed a buck. People were clamouring around, pulling gold and silver and other items for which they could trade and bargain.
"This is making me claustrophobic." breathed Jack, who was turning steadily redder and redder.
"Me too," I agreed. People were squishing and shoving against me. Several adults were giving us dark looks as we were here all alone at night without their parents. I tried to ignore them as we pushed our way forwards. Over in the distance, l spied a large tower towering over the West Square. It had a satellite on the top, but we was not buzzing with electricity. Claw had still not reached it. We still had some time.
At that moment, there was a great mass movement. People quickly moved out of the way as l pulled Jack's hand over to the conflict to see what was the matter. In the middle of the square lay two men rolling together on the ground. They were trying to punch every inch or each other they could reach. Beside them laid a spilt basket of jewelry, coins and silk fur. Everyone was watching, but no one seemed to want to break the fight up.
"Give-me-back-my-coins, Barry!" A man with thick eyebrows shouted furiously.
"This always has to happen," I said, sighing and leading Jack out of the crowd again, who was becoming quieter and quieter.
"I found the tower," said Jack quietly, pointing to the tower in the distance. "It hasn't been lit up yet."
"It will be soon," I said grimly. The crowd started to thin as i led him out of the entrance of the square. "We need to evacuate everyone, as quick as we can."
"What?"
"We need to evacuate everyone before we find Claw," I repeated clearly.
"That's not possible," said Jack, shaking his head. "There's too much people, we can't go around the whole city telling every single person."
"We just need a way to alert people via media," I said, scanning the square. My eyes feel upon a public television, which was blaring with news. A spokesperson was sitting there, papers in his hands and speaking importantly. My eyes shifted and found the news headquarters, which was close by, blaring with light.
