REECE"What the fuck is he doing here?" Wesley's voice had suddenly spat out as he practically stomped his way over to us. I warily eye-balled the two, having no idea where this was going to go.
Last time these two stood in front of each other it was clear they weren't too fond of the other. That time however, Asher had stayed calm while Wesley had jabbed at him in a witty manner.
This time was different though. This time, Wesley wasn't so humourous, he seemed livid seeing Asher stood in front of me. I could only assume his pissy mood had still been lingering from the situation at lunch.
Today wasn't a very good day for either of us it seemed.
Wesley came and stood in front of me protectively, glaring at Asher who stood with his expression neutral. I rolled my eyes at his behaviour. Asher was a pain in my ass but I knew he wouldn't try anything on me.
The fact that Asher seemed unfazed by Wesley's presence seemed to anger him more as I watched his hands ball into tight fists. Asher had always been that way, calm and collected, he never really let much get to him.
"I just came to have a civil conversation with her, I'm not trying to cause any trouble," Asher explained maturely instead of trying to provoke him further.
"Unfortunately for you, Reece isn't really capable of having a civil conversation with someone she despises. I hope you realize you're fucking with the wrong woman," Wesley gritted out. Asher's lips twitched as if he wanted to smile but his face remained neutral.
"It's a good thing I'm not trying to fuck with her then," Asher replied, remaining civilized.
I sighed and stepped to my right so I was no longer behind Wesley but beside him. I looked over at him and found him with a hard expression on his face. I then looked over to Asher to find him staring at me with a hint of amusement in his stare. I narrowed my eyes at him to warn him not to push it and he looked away from both of us for a moment, trying to contain the amused smile that threatened to appear.
That was another thing about Asher, he had always found things amusing that he probably shouldn't have.
I then stepped forward, standing between them as I faced both of them.
"Asher was just leaving," I directed towards Wesley, my voice firm. I no longer had the patience to deal with these two together. Asher looked at me with his eyebrows raised.
"I was?" He questioned, I glared at him warningly and he sighed in defeat. "Yes, I was," he agreed, making his way down the porch before turning to me. "Let me know what you decide," he said, turning away and walking towards his car.
Wesley's stare stayed hard on Asher the entire time, his jaw clenched and lips pursed, until he finally drove out of sight. He then turned to me, his stare softened but I could tell he was still quite angry.
"Let him know what you decide on what exactly," he asked lowly, his tone telling me that he expected an honest answer.
I rose an eyebrow at his caveman behaviour, crossing my arms over my chest before leaning against my doorframe. I wasn't really mad at Wesley for acting this way, I was more just...surprised and amused. I've never had anyone demand an answer from me...I've never had anyone demand anything from me really. If it was anyone else acting this way towards me, I knew I would be irritated right now, but with Wesley it was kind of....attractive.
That didn't mean I was gonna let him get away with it though.
"Wesley, take a deep breath in, calm down, and rephrase that in a way that doesn't make me want to rip your manhood from your body," I instructed in an eerily unfazed manner.
