*The News*
"(y/n), darling! Time to get up and start the day!" The young woman, who was in fact actually very old, sang as she threw open the window curtains hanging in her daughters room. The very tired beauty tossed her body in the opposite direction, away from her mother. "Now, (y/n). You need to get up, something very important has happened!"
"Go away, mother... Jafar had Jay and I out stealing lamps very late last night." (y/n) groaned to the raven haired lady. Her body fitting red dress with gold trimmings elegantly hung from her body, dark red pooling around her dainty black flats. With an unimpressed look, Mother Gothel took the end of her decorative belt and used it to give (y/n) a warning smack on her daughters leg.
"That's very unlady like, (y/n). I think ten minutes of walking should clear that up." (y/n) shot up out of bed rubbing her behind. Her mother would have her walk around with two books on her head and every time she dropped on another would get added on until (y/n) would drop from exhaustion. "Now, I have gotten you new clothes. Change into them and then come into my room, I will be helping you with your hair. Make it quick." Gothel gave (y/n) a kiss on her head and flowed out of (y/n)'s small room and into her own larger room down the long hall.
"New clothes?" (y/n) smiled excitedly, it was rare that Isle kids got new clothes unless they were made with their old ones. 'Mother said new clothes... what's so special about today?' (y/n) thought to herself as she hurried and did her morning routine, minus hair and makeup which she would be doing with her mother- another odd occurrence. (y/n) would only have her mother do her hair when it was very important to look nice or Mother Gothel wanted to curse someone.
The reason why she would never do (y/n)'s hair? Well, Mother Gothel never wanted (y/n) to feel like she was being treated as the brats- Rapunzel, replacement. (y/n) didn't mind though since her mother was always there for her in other aspects, other beauty, clothes, stealing, etc.
After (y/n) did her morning routine she jumped into the shower to wash herself. The Gothel house, more like a mansion, was one of the few places on the Isle of the Lost that had running water. (y/n) and her mother were better set in life since Mother Gothel was seen as more evil than others, giving her an advantage over those who feared her.
Once out of the shower (y/n) got dressed in her brand new clothes. (y/n) slipped on the new deep red short dress that came up to the middle of her thigh. The dress had three medium sized buttons going down the middle, the skirt floated out a few inches from her waist. With the buttons being gold to mimic her own mother's signature dress. Next (y/n) put on a belt-skirt that her best friend Evie, daughter of The Evil Queen, made for her. It was a black leather belt with a gold buckle. Variations of red scarf-like fabric hung from the sides of the belt down to (y/n)'s kneecaps but only covered the sides of her legs and her behind. (y/n) grabbed the new thigh high black heeled boots that had fake laces on the bottom boot and zipped up in the back. The heel wasn't too high where she couldn't run in them- something that you always had to do on the Isle; run.
Once (y/n) was all ready to get her hair done she walked out of her room and into her mothers. "Mother? Can you help with accessories before you do my hair?" (y/n) stood diagonal to her intimidating mother, a sign of respect- at least that's what Mother Gothel taught her.
"Of course, my dear. Mother will always help you." (y/n) smiled at her mother who held her daughter's face in her hands, a true proud smile on her face. It wasn't that Gothel was never loving towards her only child but it was just more today than normal. Something was up and (y/n) was sure that whatever it was would be the death of her.
