Orangepaw stared at Greenpaw in absolute shock, speechless from the news. "What?!" Redpaw meowed in shock. Before any more questions could be asked a yowl was heard from Highledge, silencing every cat in the clearing. Purestar stood on Highledge, her gaze cast over the crowd of cats, an icy calm look on her face. She hadn't called a clan meeting, there was no need. Every cat in the clan was already in the clearing.

"Cats of Thunderclan! We must remain calm! Shadowclan may have crossed the border but that doesn't mean that we should immediately panic!" Purestar meowed. The fur on the shoulders of most cats went flat, the cats beginning to relax.

"Freckleshine, were there any signs of Shadowclan stealing prey?" Purestar asked. Freckleshine nodded. "Yes Purestar. We found mouse and squirrel blood on the other side of the border." Freckleshine meowed in response.

A few hisses and yowls of fury we're heard in the crowd before Purestar flicked her tail as a signal for silence. "We must show Shadowclan that they will not steal prey from us so easily! We will increase patrols on the Shadowclan border and if any Shadowclan cats are caught across the border then they will be driven back into their own territory!" Purestar meowed.

Every cat nodded in agreement to Purestar's plan. Shadowclan wouldn't steal their prey so easily. If I see a Shadowclan cat within Thunderclan territory then I'll drive them back into their own territory myself! Orangepaw thought. Purestar's gaze rested on Orangepaw for a moment, what seemed to be a gleam in her eye, as if she knew what Orangepaw was thinking, before she turned to the rest of the clan.

"I expect every cat to work hard to make sure that Shadowclan stays out of our territory!" Purestar meowed, and at that she flicked her tail as a signal that the meeting is over and padded down from Highledge.

............

About half a moon had passed since Shadowclan had crossed the border, and despite the additional patrols Shadowclan has still be crossing the border, but only when no cat was there to see it. Orangepaw was beyond determined to put Shadowclan in their place and keep them from stealing Thunderclan prey, but he was only able to go on so many patrols before he was told to rest.

Not to mention that he isn't always going on border patrols. Sometimes he's going hunting, sometimes he's doing some battle training, and sometimes he's on a border patrol that's patrolling the border of Windclan.

So whenever Orangepaw was on a hunting patrol then he always made sure to do his beat to get as much fresh kill as he could, and if he were ever going to get some battle training then he always worked even harder on his battle moves, even coming up with a few new battle moves or techniques.

Now Orangepaw was going to go on another midnight patrol, just like when Shadowclan first crossed the border. When we finally catch those Shadowclan cats then I'll teach them a lesson they'll never forget! Orangepaw thought.

The camp seemed to be both peaceful and full of activity at the same time. Peaceful because it was quiet and most cats seemed calm, but full of activity because Pinkpaw would drag brambles into the camp to reinforce every den ever so often. Pinkpaw wanted to protect her clan mates, just incase Shadowclan decided to invade their camp.

Orangepaw crunched on the sparrow that he was eating, trying to figure out how the Shadowclan cats have been getting past them and getting into Thunderclan territory so that they could finally be stopped.

A thought suddenly came to Orangepaw. Shadowclan was only crossing the border once they've seen that a patrol has passed. They must be waiting at the border, out of sight, for the patrol to pass before they enter Thunderclan territory. So they wouldn't be expecting any Thunderclan cats to show up between patrols.
