You wake up early that Monday morning, way earlier than what you were used to. Yawning, you stretch out and get up out of bed. As you go to check your phone, you receive a text from Hawks.
Hawks
picking you up in ten minutes. don't rush to get ready if you aren't, though.
ok, i'll see you then.
see ya soon, early bird!
Early bird? Was that a new nickname for you? You stare at the screen fir a few more seconds before hurriedly getting changed. You brush out your hair and go about your routine as you usually do. Why was Hawks picking you up? Well, that is because he wanted to start working on what you had previously discussed as soon as possible. Then, once you were ready, you grabbed your things and headed down to go outside.
Right as you got outside, Hawks landed, folding his wings in. "Mornin, Early bird!" Hawks greets. "M-Morning, Hawks." You say, rubbing your eyes for the final time today, trying to wipe the tiredness away. "Why'd we have to meet so early?" You ask. "Can't we just do this after work?" You question, looking at the winged man. "Well, we could. But, it's much easier to do this before work." He replies, wrapping a wing around you, pulling you closer to him. "First things first, we gotta work on that confidence of yours." He says, turning an eye to look at you before starting to walk towards the office. "Don't think I haven't noticed how you're hiding yourself with such... plain clothing." He says. "You're too cute to be hiding yourself from everyone." He smiles, snickering a bit as he sees you blush. "I-I just don't like t-to wear super revealing clothes..." You mutter, your flustered levels evident in your voice. He simply sighs. "You don't have to show yourself off, but maybe wear something that would look a bit more flattering on you." He replies. You just hum and give a small nod. "You're a beautiful girl, (Y/N), don't try and hide that fact." He says.
The two of you were quiet for a bit. "H-Hey Hawks?" You ask, breaking the silence. He hums, looking down at you. "Wh-Why are you doing this for me? I mean, you don't really know me, and the first say we met, I practically threw myself onto you." You question, averting your eyes to the ground. He sighs, grabbing your chin and forcing you to look at him. "You're still young, (Y/N). You have so much potential ahead of you and I don't think it'd be very hero like of me to just sit back and watch as you slowly dig your own grave over a bit of anxiety and awkwardness." He say, a small smile forming on your face. "As for the other night. You were shitfaced and weren't really aware of your actions. So, I cannot hold that against you. If it'd make you comfortable, I can forget all about it." He finishes his statement. By the time he had stopped talking, the two of you had stopped walking and were just standing in the middle of the sidewalk.
You didn't know why, but for some reason his words sent you into tears. You pull your head away from his hands, trying to wipe the tears from your eyes. "Why are you crying, Kid? Did I say something wrong?" Hawks says a bit worriedly, kneeling down to get a good look at you. "N-No.. you didn't say anything wrong, Hawks." You say, looking at the man, a few tears still rolling down your cheeks. "Everything you said... it was just what I needed to hear." You say, smiling a tiny bit. Hawks stares at you for a second before smiling back at you, wiping the remaining tears off your cheek with his thumb. "Thank you, Hawks." You say.
