CHAPTER 5
I was leaving the pavilion, muttering to myself about how weird this all was. It wasn't April 1st, right? But as I left the pavilion, I regretted every decision of my life. Why? Well... a makeup wearing Annabeth and stupid Oliver were standing outside the pavilion eating each other's faces off and morning slightly. I recoiled, disgusted.
After a couple more seconds, they pulled away. Annabeth smiled at him. I quickly hid behind a bush like some cliche ninja or whatever to watch the two demigods. Oliver just had to have had something to do with whatever was happening.
They had a quick conversation, Annabeth constantly giggling and making me cringe. But the real thing that really made me want to barf was what Annabeth said last.
"I'll see you there, Seaweed Brain," She giggled.
See what I mean? Disgusting. No one was allowed to get called Seaweed Brain except Percy, and that had been established mainly by Annabeth. And now here Annabeth was, breaking her own rule. Annabeth was not much of a rule breaker, which meant that Oliver had definitely done something.
I mean, why would she have called him Seaweed Brain anyways? Oliver is a son of Hermes! He has absolutely no relation to Seaweed or water.
Annabeth walked away into the pavilion, and I ducked back under the bush as he walked past. Oliver just stood there frozen with a goofy grin on his face, obviously awestruck at has what just happened. I definitely was.
I decided that if I ever wanted to learn anything, I'd need to specially ask Oliver himself. I inhaled sharply, stood up, brushed the dirt and leaves off of myself, then walked over to Oliver, tapping on his shoulder so then crossing my arms.
He turned around to face me (and I wore an angry glare, for obvious reasons). "Nico? What's up, buddy?" Oliver said.
"I could ask you the same question, buddy," I said, mocking him in the same tone.
Oliver furrowed his eyebrows. "Nico... it kinda looks like you're not a fan of me which is impossible," He said bluntly.
I scoffed. "How conceited is that?" I said. "Don't answer that, its a rhetorical question. You are clearly very conceited."
"No, I mean it's literally impossible," Oliver said in a low voice. Oliver's eyes darted around, then he grabbed onto my arm, dragging me behind a pavilion where no one else is. "Nico, who is my father?"
"What kind of question is that?" I snorted.
"Just answer the question," Oliver snapped.
"Hermes, obviously," I sighed.
Oliver groaned. "So it didn't work on you. Why didn't it work on you?"
"Why didn't what work on me?" I said nervously, taking a step backwards away from him.
"It doesn't matter," Oliver said, quickly trying to wave it off.
"Obviously it matters!" I said, throwing my hands up and a bit outraged. "You did something to Annabeth, Will, and possibly the entire camp and you want to do it to me, you freak!"
"Yeah, yeah, whatever," Oliver rolled his eyes. "But for obvious reasons, I don't want you spilling our little secret to anyone or waking them up! So I'm truly sorry, but that's why I have to do this."
"Do what?" I asked slowly.
Oliver grinned, pulling a gold liquid filled syringe in his man purse, his murse, that swung at his side. My eyes widened and I took a step away from him, but tripping over a rock, falling on my but on the ground. "I'm very glad I made this last night too," Oliver said with a mad look in his eyes.
"You never answered!" I screamed at him, my voice about 5 octaves higher. "What is that stupid needle going to do to me... assuming you're actually able to stab me?"
"Oh, I'm going to be able to 'stab' you, don't worry," Oliver smirked, "And it's pretty simple. It's just a potion that will put you under my full control. You'll do whatever I say without question, become my servant, call me Master, all that good stuff."
My eyes widened. Is this kid insane? Wait... why am I even asking that? Of course he's insane! Do you hear him right now? "Now just stay still," Oliver said, raising the syringe.
"No!" I yelled at him.
"It wasn't a question, Nico. Stay still. Or else I'll make you stay still," He said.
"I'd like you to see you try," I spat.
"Challenge excepted," He grinned. He concentrated for a second, then began to shake the ground super hard, making it impossible for me to stand up or go anywhere. Making it impossible for me to get away... well played, Oliver. Well played.
But that wasn't my main concern at the moment. My main concern was HOW THE HECK IS HE DOING THIS?! But three I remembered Annabeth calling Oliver Seaweed Brain, and it had seemed as if he had replaced Percy. And how he was causing some sort of earthquake right now. He must have found a way to make himself a son of Poseidon. But that's impossible. You can't just make yourself a son of someone else!
Olive began to walk towards me, not seeming the least bit fazed by the earthquake he was causing, but walking smoothly.
"Why are you doing this?" I yelled at him over the sound of the ground shaking.
"Because," He said, "When I don't get what I want, I do whatever it takes to make it happen. Now get ready to began my loyal servant, di Angelo."
Oliver raised the syringe, then plunged the needle into my arm, letting the liquid in in drain into me. As he drained it into me, I felt myself getting more dizzy and drowsy, my thoughts leaving my head one thought at a time.
Then everything went black.
