he turns around with a puzzled face and says "hey?"

you say "oh sorry my name is y/n im new to the neighborhood, my mom wants me to make friends i saw you walking your dog and wanted to come say hi in hopes we could potentially be friends." you sigh

"oh well then nice to meet you y/n. Im Duke! and welcome to the neighborhood!" he seems excited to talk to me you think to yourself

"i can bring my dog inside and we can talk okay?"

"thats fine"

Duke brings his dog inside his house and walks back out towards you. "so, where you from?"

"Ohio, my dad got a job here so we moved"

"oh thats cool, how do you like it here"

" i have only been here for 2 days but if everyone here is as nice as you i think i will like it"

Duke blushes at that, its cute

"I love it here" he says

"well then, enough of that hmmm so tell me, what is your favorite color."

"hmm blue, you"

you say " yellow"

"what is your favorite movie?" he asks you, and you know your answer

"Pirates of the Caribbean"

"Really I love that one ! but my favorite is charlie and the chocolate factory." he said

"hey what time is it?"

"5:36"

"shoot i have dinner at 6. nice meeting you Duke." you turn to walk away

"y/n" he says before you even take a step

" can i uh-    have your number?" he says awkwardly.

"oh of course! its ***-***-****, text me later "

"thank you" he says before you leave.

you go home and eat dinner with your family and you go upstairs. you wonder when Duke is going to text. you get anxious and keep checking your phone every minute.

When you think about him you get butterflies in your stomach you think about his smile and how warm and friendly it was, oh and his voice was so relaxing. Kind of wrong not to mention his gorgeous face, innocent and cute. 'do i have a crush on Duke?'
