"I'm pregnant, Kikyo-chan."
"W-what? You are? Oh kami, I'm so excited for you two!" Kikyo's eyes were wide with happiness and excitement.
"Minato and I talked it over and we want you to be their godmother."
"Me?!"
Kushina Uzumaki laughed loudly, holding her slowly growing stomach, "Yes, you! Will you accept?"
Kikyo nodded and felt tears in her eyes. She had only been introduced to the couple just two and a half years prior and they had become such a staple in her life. They were her family and she felt incredibly blessed that they seemed to see her as the same.

"Kakashi?"
It was the middle of the night when Kikyo felt someone's presence outside her home. She recognized it but it had been a very long time since he had last visited. Kikyo slid open the shrine door to see Kakashi sitting in an ANBU uniform with his mask off to the side, he was leaning up against a beam and holding his stomach. The smell of sweat and blood was far too strong. Kikyo cursed to herself before running back inside and into her kitchen, rummaging around for her first aid kit and anything else she might need for whatever injury he had. Grabbing what she needed, she rushed back outside to find him in the same position.
"Kakashi, I'm going to need to take off this armor piece, okay? I can't see the whole wound with it on and I'm going to have to cut part of your shirt."
Kakashi just grunted in response so Kikyo got to work. She unbuckled the straps of the plate and took it off as carefully as she could before summoning a clone to help hold Kakashi upright to cut the shirt and check the wound in his stomach and if there were others. Kikyo quietly worked, putting alcohol soaked rags on the wound to try and clean the wound and get the dirt and grime off of him. There were three stab wounds, luckily whoever stabbed him missed anything vital so there shouldn't be any organs that needed tending to. Why didn't Kakashi go to the hospital?
The wounds were cleaned and stitched up and any other injury was taken care of as well. Kikyo's clone helped her wrap bandages around Kakashi's stomach and covered and wrapped any others just to avoid them tearing and bleeding again.
"Kakashi...?"
"Sorry."
"Why didn't you go to the hospital? They could've had you healed up and tended to much better than I did."
"Didn't want to go to the hospital."
"Come on, let's get you inside. It's cold out here and the last thing we need is an animal thinking you're somehow part of nature and part of the house."
Kakashi didn't resist the help as Kikyo and her clone stood up and lifted him, the three slowly making their way into the shrine and into Kikyo's home. The clone gently took Kakashi's arm off of her before running into the hallway and coming back a moment later holding some bedding. The clone set up a bed on the floor with a comfortable mat so that Kakashi didn't wake up stiff and in pain. Once Kakashi was laying on the bedding, Kikyo took off whatever weapons she could see and placed them on her dining room table before covering him with a blanket.
"I'm going to take off your headband, okay? Just so you aren't uncomfortable while you sleep."
Kakashi didn't say anything for a moment before nodding a little. Kikyo carefully removed his headband and placed it along with his weapons.
