Aster's P.O.V.:

FROM: Harry
I'm sorry.

FROM: Harry
Can we talk? Want to see you.

FROM: Harry
I was a jerk. Please just answer the phone and we can work it out?

7 missed calls and I barely have the time to read the last message when my phone starts ringing again. Dismissing the call, I huff, turning my phone with the screen facing the balcony.

"Who the hell is calling you this much?" Calvin raises his eyebrows, glancing at my phone as I take it out of his sight, on a second thought just pushing it inside of my pocket.

"Oh, don't worry about it." I say dismissively, looking away from Calvin's intent stare and turning my attention down to the ingredients I'm mixing together.

Calvin arrived New York last night and came straight to my place. I wanted to go pick him up at the airport, as I usually do when he comes to visit, but to be honest I didn't want to arrive there being escorted, it would raise too many questions I wouldn't be able to answer.

I mean, yeah, I did tell him a bit about the whole S&L situation, but only a quick glance over it. I told him there's an illegal side of S&L I didn't know about and Harry told me the basics, and after knowing that I kind of became a bit afraid of walking around unguarded, and that's why Harry asked one of his friends to make me company when I go to public places.

Not exactly the truth, but also not a complete lie, right?

Anyway, Calvin accepted it way better than I expected. Actually, he said my father going to the illegal side of producing drugs is not even a shock, considering how easy it would be to get away with it and make a lot of money in the process. He did say I should be more careful, not going alone to places if I can avoid it, and also advised me to not pry over this kind of business, that I should stay as unaware as possible so it wouldn't bounce back to me in case the FBI discovers or something like that.

All in all, it was surprising how cool about it all he was. Guess I'm the only idiot who thought my father would never do something like that.

Just as I'm serving two tall glasses of mojito for Calvin and I, my phone buzzes again in my pocket, making my heart skip a beat, but I chose to ignore it again.

It's been a week since Harry was a complete jerk to me, and even though I'm missing him in a ridiculously big amount, I'm still hurt about the things he implied. I avoided any contact with him the whole week, but I don't even think he tried contacting me till today - even though Rickie escorted me every day, I didn't hear a peep from Harry and also didn't see him walking around S&L. Which means he was probably avoiding me as much as I was him.

Better this way.

"So, where are we going tonight?" I ask Calvin, sipping from the drink I just make and closing my eyes with pleasure to the burning sensation spreading down my throat and reaching my stomach.

"Remember the nightclub we went to last year?" Calvin says with excitement, his eyes sparkling. I love how thrilled he gets when the subject is going out to the nightlife of New York. "The one my friend owns? Wanna go there again?"
